This is by far the best rock/gemstone/mineral shop in Rapid City, if not all of the US. The selection available is absolutely unparalleled, the quality is outstanding, and the owners are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The couple who own the shop source all of the stones personally and have been doing so for the past 30 years. There are what feels like endless rooms of beautiful quality specimens and a giant case of jewelry with some additional specimens in the middle of the main room. It’s near impossible to leave without falling in love with something and buying it, so come prepared to purchase. Also, the expansive collection could take you hours to truly view if you are a truly interested collector, so make sure you block out the time in your day. An absolute "Gem"!

My 8-year-old granddaughter and I decided to visit this store. Little did we know that we would be leaving with more than a small bag of treasure!

Not only did Bob greet us as we entered the store, he took the time to talk (and joke) with my granddaughter. He explained to her about all the rocks and minerals that could be found in our area.

Even though this gentleman had several customers in his store, he took the time to ensure the little girl was the most important customer he had. This 5-minute conversation influenced her to be a "miner"!

This shop has the good stuff! Tons of selection and real stuff - not a bunch of fake colored rocks like most places. The owners really have a passion for collecting and rock hounding. They are so helpful with answering questions and sharing knowledge. The shop is well organized and beautiful to walk through; don't let the size fool you because it is FULL of amazing finds!
