I would give then a 0 if I could. They posted a used Chevrolet Equinox online as being "grey" in color. From the picures online it was difficult to tell the color, but we spoke with them on the phone about the it and they stated that it was "grey". We took their word on it and I put $500.00 deposit down over the phone to hold the vehicle so that we could drive over to finalize the purchase for my daughter (her first vehicle). I rented a vehicle that same day to drive over and pick it up, which my daughter and I drove over 3 hours to get there. They said it would be parked out front and when we showed up the only thing we saw was a light colored "brown" Equinox. I was hoping that the "grey" Equinox was somewhere else on the lot and this was just a mistake. No mistake. The salesman comes out and doesn't understand why we don't like the vehicle. He wants us to test drive it and I told him that this is not a "grey" vehicle as they advertised it and told us it was. Their tag on the vehicle's keys even had it listed as a "grey" Equinox. The salesman tries to tell me that the sunlight is playing tricks on me and that when the light hits it just right it looks "grey". I asked the salesman to bring me the Chevrolet information that shows me the formal name of the color that is specific to the VIN #, which Chevrolet called it "Mocha" in color. Only in Red Bud, IL does someone call a "Mocha" color a "grey" when it is clearly "brown". My daughter was devistated and cried on the way home. I got my $500.00 deposit back, but unfortunately I didn't get my $80.00 spent in rental vehicle and gas due to Weir Chevrolet's false advertising and color blindness, which nobody would step up and take any responsibility for the error. A day wasted of our time as well that I won't get back. I spoke with the Sales Manager (Brandon), which he wasn't going to do anything to make this right. I stated that Chevrolet calls this color "Mocha" and it is clearly light "brown" in color, which he argued with me that it was a difference in opinion on what his "Mocha" color was and he felt like it looked "grey" to them. I don't know what the definition of "Mocha" is in Red Bud, IL; however, everywhere else in the world "Mocha" is a "brown" color. It was clear that he wasn't going to try and make this right with us so hopefully this post will show the character of Weir Chevrolet and the sales manager that they cannot be trusted. They willl lie just to cover their own mistakes. This is an unethical group to deal with. Do not buy anything from them. They will do anything for a sale and will lie to protect any mistakes they make. I would have rather Brandon tell me that they made a mistake and made this right with us; however, he was too busy trying to get me to believe "Mocha" is more of a "grey" color than a "brown" color. When the sales manager handles an error on their part like this, then this speaks volumes of the character of himself and the dealership that has a person in this position of sales leadership. ...
Read moreI accidentally sent the previous post from my wife's email address, because of using her phone (she told me that I should warn others of this dealership); however, it just allows me to post another 1 star to a dealership that deserves a 0. Weir Chevrolet and their sales manager (Brandon) should take a lesson from this...when you make a mistake own up to and don't defend your actions when wrong. They are the only dealership that I have come across that will call a "Mocha" (as most people know is a brown color) color "grey" and defend their stance even when clearly wrong. When the sales manager (their sales leadership) handles things like he did (see previous post), it only validates the lack of character Weir Chevrolet has and that they cannot be trusted. Weir Chevrolet...false advertising, color blind and will lie to defend their errors so that they don't have to admit when they have treated someone wrong. Weir Chevrolet and sales managers (sales leadership) like Brandon are what gives used car dealerships and salesman their bad name in professions. Don't buy from these people...0 credibility...0 on trust...0 on color recognition...0 on customer service...0 on accountability...and I could give out more 0's but don't want to waste anymore time on this dealership that is unethical in their actions. Just hope my posts keep others from going to this dealership and hope the owner sees how his employees represent him.
I received a response from Weir Chevrolet to my previous post to my wife's account, which states the following:
"Thank you for reaching out to us. We regret to hear about the situation you have described. The proper name from GM is mocha steel metallic . some people see it as a grey and I am sorry you did not like the shade of color and that your daughter was devastated. I hope she makes it thru this trying time in her life and that she doesn't find another equinox almost $3000 under retail in great shape with 24 clear pictures online that is the wrong shade of color ! We refunded your deposit without question and are very sorry that you took the time to drive down and look at a used vehicle before you bought it and hope you don't have anymore problems in your search for a equinox . If there is anything else we can assist you with please reach out to us."
Really...Weir Chevrolet states that they hope that my daughter "doesn't find another Equinox". This is either a dealership that has poor attention to detail and poor communication or this just shows the character of them. From my dealings, it is a combination of all of these things. Either way, it just validates that you don't want to deal with this dealership. The good thing is...my daughter did find another Equinox that we purchased. It was the color advertised with 10,000 less miles and $300.00 below the price from Weir Chevrolet. Good luck to anyone dealing with Weir Chevrolet. My recommendation is to look...
Read moreWell this place really wasted my time do not do business here if you value your time. I came in to look at a Chevrolet equinox and I walked in the door and asked about it and, I was told by I wonât say any names but it rhymes with Smosh totalbull the so called âsalesmanâ, that it was being held for another customer.. so I accepted that and moved on to another vehicle I was interested in. After a day of texting back and fourth he made me feel like I might get a good deal on it they bait and switched me and couldnât come down to my price as Iâm not a push over so I accepted that also. The next day I get a text saying that the customer backed out of the vehicle I originally came in to look at. âThey backed out on it, GREAT!â I thought; I was excited to hear this. I had asked him to hang on to it until I got off work the next day as he did for the previous customer who backed out. That next day I was texting him.....well, trying to ...with no response most of the time, or little words said. He told me to call at lunch. Once again I was ignored. After 3 calls I went there on my lunch break using my lunch time trying to catch up with a âsalesmanâ and talked to someone who informed me he was gone showing a car. I then get back to work and get a text saying the customer who backed out on the vehicle was back looking at it. I wasnât worried too much because I THOUGHT they were holding it for me until I got done working and come to find out smosh was not true to his word on holding it as he did for the previous interested customer, and sold it before I got off work. I was really upset... I went there as soon as I got off work to see what he had to say and he said he couldnât hold a vehicle for an emotional customer. I quickly corrected him! I was not emotional, I was really mad he did that to me. He sold it out from under me after telling me he was going to stand behind the vehicle for me and hold it. Talk about super mad!! I would not recommend this place to buy a vehicle to anyone...on to Weber Chevrolet I go! And my wife called to talk to him and he was very rude to her on the telephone and said idk what to tell you have a nice day not a good way to make sales in the future. I hope this review will help anyone in the near future to help you decide on where to go to buy a vehicle around the red bud area. -Sincerely, a very...
