Redner's Markets seem to vary by location, but across the board their produce tends to be pretty fresh and prices are reasonable. The overall selection is a little smaller and kind of old fashioned, however they are trying to get up to date on some things. They are including more gluten free products, but don't try to find an all out health conscience aisle addressing everything from vegan to Paleo or keto like Giant and Wegmans have. Not much ethnic variety either. That said, it is a store I like for the basics when I don't want to be overwhelmed. I asked if they had konjac, ( miracle), noodles. which even Weis has. They didn't. Unlike Weis, however, I have a little more faith in their produce. Side note: I don't really trust the fresh proteins, especially seafood, at either, particularly in open style cold cases. Some have switched to closed ones. They all should. I don't eat the bakery products but family members have enjoyed them, especially the cheesecake. They also make fried chicken on premises. That will be usually gone by late afternoon/ early evening. The staff at Redner's is exceptionally nice most...
Read moreAmazing on the pre-prepared wings and potato salad! Perfect for a busy Saturday afternoon. And they left out the unhealthy fillers. I love that they carry CORE water, reasonably priced, my alkaline of choice. The deals on their bulk ground beef are worthy too. And great local candles for fall, and sale priced ones too! KUDOS! to the convenience of a 24-hour, nearby, full grocery store, so essential for my busy lifestyle. Sometimes the employees are less than helpful. When I asked for boxed, non-dairy milk, the worker stared, glazed, mouth half-open. I quickly maneuvered through the aisles, finding a few non-refrigerated, dairy-free milks in the baking aisle. Not the varieties I was seeking, but the employee could have been more knowledgeable, or at least more inclined to help. I dug the kombucha colas. Was sad that they stopped carrying that particular variety. Hopefully they can bring it back soon. It's a fun one. And naturally covered candy-apples, with non-dairy coating, w/o the peanuts would be a delectible...
Read moreHumanely pasture fed Bison, raised by a really nice guy. I highly recommend the trip to his farm for meat. Do NOT expect farm tours or a closeup photo op with Bison. These are natural raised so they are still as wild as the Bison in Yellowstone. (And we all know not to get in the path of these magnificent beasts.) If you like the idea of eating naturally raised, happy meats, then you must contribute to that environment by giving the animals a wide berth. Stay off and back from the fences and leave all that natural for the animals. The man who provides the Bison meat to you knows how to give you the food you enjoy. Just pop into his farm stand, make your selections and enjoy the fact that you contribute to the best meat raising system. Bison is leaner than chicken. No flare ups on the grill. Impressed diners at...
