Magic Man Games — Local services in Rhinelander

Full disclosure: I am friends with the owner, Zach Hext. But with that said, it does not change my opinion of my review. The main reason I ended up befriending the owner was him trying to help out his community. The local hobby/game shop closed and at the time only place in town to get Magic the Gathering cards was Walmart and they were always sold out. He started off with humble intentions to become a store to help our community, not just Magic the Gathering but Dungeons and Dragons and board games. From his kindness and general interest to help people get the items they needed/wanted, Magic Man Games started to grow. There were many nights after playing Magic with him, we would have long conversations on how he could grow this and explained that growing up in northern Wisconsin these hobbies were not the easiest to access and wanted to change that. Magic Man Games does it’s best to offer the lowest pricing they can and if they do not have what you are looking for, Zach will try to order it. I have seen Zach go above and beyond for even first time customers and not just his “friends” to find items. For me Magic Man Games is more then just a store but a nice community hangout. I have made many new friends while there and I am always glad to see and hear from people who have just started going there to have the same feelings and appreciation I have for the store and it’s owner! I can not ever thank Magic Man Games enough for opening up and being here, on top of making my hobbies affordable!

Magic Man Games keeps true to the message of supporting many fandoms and hobbies. Zach does whatever he can to expand to a wide variety. The Old Bookworld location provides plenty of Space. With a nice bit of Nostalgia, considering that the old Black Lotus game shop used to be nextdoor as well.😎👍🏼

Nothing to really say against it. When I stopped by, they were attempting to solve some sort of Technical issues... but were more than willing and able to help me keep my finger in Mtg.

And the selection spread for games, makes it a good place for everyone looking for something to play at home, even if it's just something like Exploding Kittens or similar semi board games. Probably the best selection in town. Definitely beats whatever you might find at Walmart. Anything that you might find at Walmart, that MMG doesn't carry... Is probably not worth it, or something that might be possible to order through MMG. Usually for a cheaper price to boot. Certainly Walmart has no option to...

I stopped here on my way through Rhinelander for a trip, and the staff was amazing. I was looking for a few singles, and they were so helpful finding them for me. And then one of the staff (I believe it might have been the shop owner) even made some suggestions for helping fill up a commander deck. As an incredibly new MTG player, I felt very welcomed to both the store and the game here. I also grabbed a few accessories that were priced lower than I’ve seen at some other shops.
