tl;dr: ✅️ Truck entrance is on Walnut. ✅️ Arrive to appointment at exact time. ✅️ Park on Walnut to wait or shut down. ✅️ No breaks in the yard. ✅️ Porta potties are by the exit.
According to these reviews, everyone seems to have a different experience. I have only been here twice. My first time was a drop and hook, so the process was very quick as far as navigating the yard goes. However, the lack of a clear entrance to the facility from Alder Avenue made my visit time-consuming, not to mention their automated checkout system. Initially, I felt it was not practical, and I ended up having to talk to a yard driver to get further instructions on what to do. If I had left a review on that day, I would have given it a 2/5. The employees were understanding and helpful.
Now that I know how the system works and have been to other Niagara locations that operate the same way, I would rate my visit last night a 4/5. It was a live load, and I was scheduled for pickup at 23:00. I did arrive 5 hours early, so they said to come back right at that appointment time. I knew that would be the case. Unfortunately, the woman I spoke to had a bit of an attitude when I asked when I could come back to check in, hoping I would be told maybe 30 minutes to an hour beforehand. She said, "no, you need to come back at 23:00 as scheduled." Thankfully, you can park on Walnut (the street used to enter the facility) to wait there for your appointment time. You can also use that spot later to park overnight if you run out of hours after pickup. If you really need to make a stop for some food or shower, they do have a Pilot very close by.
Aside from the treatment I received from the female employee, everything went smoothly after that. It only took me one hour to get loaded. It is done automatically, so I believe it helps to ensure nothing is in your trailer like load locks or straps and that it is cleaned out. Be sure to slide tandems as well, considering you will be backing onto a sensor. They don't allow you to take breaks in the yard, but they do have porta potties near the exit.
Overall, I love the idea of heading into a machine-operated direction, but there is still a lot more that could be...
Read moreHi. Do your guys happen like my pick-up here ? My appointment pick-up today is at 1:30 am. I'm assigned to Dock# 29, waiting for loaded. At 3:30 am. I received the phone call from the lady working at the gate for all the driver's check-out . She told me it was done loaded. I started my truck and waited for air build-up. I slice tandem and close the doors. At 3:42 am. She calls me again. She told me she wanted to come to the gate and check out right now? I get out of the gate for check-out. I see her standing outside. I came to the machine, and she ordered me the machine to check out. What does she think of? She tried to help me? or she thinks I may get a 15-minute. I will do for a request detention? Do I request my detention from Niagara before? I got here. It delays 30 minutes or 1 hour's? No, I don't. Because they're always helping me when I come here late for my pick-up. Happy 4th July, all your guys. Thank...
Read moreThe truck entrance is on the north side. I checked in 9 hours early appointment was 5 AM. I parked on the north side on the street with no parking with other trucks on a Saturday night with no problem.
They had me come back 2 hours early, 3 AM. The load was ready and I was loaded within 30 minutes. I used the computer kiosks to print out the paperwork. There's a printer behind A little window. And you put on your own seal.
Everything was really good until I had to use the restroom. Those 2 little things are by the exit. And they're not clean, they're never cleaned. They don't have anything in there. Besides, a...
