The sales associate and sales manager either do not know the products and services they are selling or they are just trying to upsell everything and ripping people off.
My experience was a mixture of false advertising, flat out lying, or complete incompetence. The worst part about this AT&T store is that they are an “authorized dealer” which apparently means they don’t report to AT&T corporate and there is essentially no repercussions for false advertising, lying, being incompetent or any other poor customer service experiences.
The sales posters in the store advertise mix and match plans for up to 4 lines for 35.99, 40.99, and 50.99 per month. I told them I wanted that plan, I was told those plans were only for prepaid phones and no one wants prepaid plans and phones. I pointed out that the posters said nothing about prepaid plans only.
My phone bill for 4 lines was going to be $89 x 4 per month according to the sales associate and manager when the plan I wanted would be $50.99 x 4 per month plus taxes. The 50.99/ month plan even had better coverages and data than the more expensive plan.
Had I not challenged the sales associate and sales manager, my monthly service bills would have cost me $1,824 more per year than they should have.
While in the store, I called 611 and talked to the real AT&T who confirmed I can buy any of those plans for up to 4 lines.
The store sales manager still told me they were for prepaid plans only and the sales associate told him I just talked to AT&T they weren’t just for prepaid plans. I told both of them to stop trying to sell me more than I wanted and be straight with me. Why would the customer have to verify the plans and offers rather the the sales rep providing this customer service? Beyond me.
Long story, but I don’t want to be taken advantage off, and would caution anyone doing business in this store to reconsider and make purchases online direct from AT&T or make sure you go to a “corporate AT&T” store location.
I ended up getting the appropriate plan and price, but they still managed to screw up my accounts and billing by not being able to consolidate 2 existing accounts into 1 account with 4 lines. This cost me a couple hours on the phone with the real AT&T to get this all straightened out.

So not only are 2/3 reps working in the store worthless, seems as though they just want to take you for all they can...!! Read moreI’ve never experienced such blatant dishonesty and incompetence as I did with AT&T Wireless in Richland Center. The only thing they seemed to excel at was stealing our phones and making trade-in promises they had no intention of honoring. They dangled the promise of trade-in credits to get us to switch, and once they had our phones and the deal was done, it was nothing but avoidance, excuses, and outright lies.
Every attempt to follow up was met with a runaround. They refused to address the issue or honor what we were told, clearly prioritizing their sales numbers over integrity and customer satisfaction.
