Golden Gate Western Wear — Local services in Richmond

The majority of this place’s business seems to be selling custom hats online. Never gotten a custom hat from them, but the in-store selection is old, dusty, and picked over and the customer service ranges from indifferent to hostile. I guess they focus on their online business and see in-store customers as a distraction?

I know there aren’t many working cowboys in the Bay Area these days, and most people looking for western wear here are wearing it as a costume/statement or are just buying a hat to wear once at the rodeo, but give us an authentic and welcoming experience at least.

They also have signs up saying they don’t allow hat returns because of a “CA health code.” Other hat sellers in CA allow returns, and I’ve searched for this “health code” and can’t find...

After waiting 9 months I finally got my Justified hat. At best they took a 6X Stetson and slapped a Justified hat band on it. The brim was not reshaped in any way (still has quite a bit of curl on the sides)

The staff here is incredibly kind and helpful!
