This restaurant ,bakery with many gluten free items and coffee house has so much to offer that I've had to visit ten times to realise all it's potential... Weekends are packed for the whole pork shoulder with crispy skin that is so good... The bakery goes into full speed putting out gluten free guava cookies ,yucca cake and other gluten free and wheat pastries.. the guava cookies have a gluten free top and bottom with guava sandwiched in between...they are so good I'm sending some to my sister in the state of Washington to make her jealous that she can't get them unless I send them. There is a food fight in our family history of who has found the best..these guava cookies might beat her smoked salmon.. I couldn't do pictures that I thought were good enough so a professional photographer Friend of mine took pictures and I will post them later.... There is a simple salad bar but also other vegetables offered and before I forget The oxtail another friend of ours travels from Daley City to get the oxtail ....Chicken legs and thighs are also offered.. It's buffet style not everything is offered everyday so if you want oxtail call first ...Some sort of beef chicken and pork dish is offered everyday.... They don't have decaf coffee they have a Brazilian brew... I don't get decaf so get their fresh squeeze orange juice...they have a juicer and you will see them cut and juice the oranges ..... They don't use a can opener for their vegetables everything is fresh made.... The black beans and red beans are fresh cooked .. saffron rice or white rice..roasted potatoes with parmesan cheese...I can't show you a menu they don't use one...what you see is what you can get... Children's menu is easy you pay by the pound so get what you and your child want no mess no fuss A friend when offered yucca cake said he didn't eat sweets I said try a piece of my yucca cake....at the end of the meal he took the rest of the yucca cake for his MOM...yeah right! I will post pictures later and give you a separate posting as the bakery will be listed separately in Google maps at a later date ... I like gluten free done well and the bakery desires...
Read moreThis place is the worse restaurant I have ever been to. Before my last bad experience with them, which occurred on Dec 14th 2018, I had stopped going there for a long time due to an incident.
Roughly a year ago, after 5 or 6 PM, they used to offer an $8 flat rate for any plate of food, dine in or to go.
I stopped by to get some food, and I filled up a to go box with rice, beans, and meat. Another gentleman who was there at the same time, did exactly the same.
When we both went to the counter to pay, the owner lady decided to weigh our food. When we both asked why weighing it, because after hour you offer an $8 flat rate. The owner lady stated that she had to bypass what her restaurant had been advertising to customers because according to her, we took too much food.
It was closing time for them and they had so much food left, which makes me wonder if they were selling leftovers to costumes. Based on this restaurant behavior, I doubt that they would throw that food away. Based on the taste of their food sometimes, I have reason to believe they are up to some mischievous practices over there. Who knows what!
But when a friend wanted to get some food so bad, I took her there after warning her of my past experience there.
When we get there, we decided we wanted the food to go, but they were out of to go boxes, but one was left.
I was offered a plastic container for my part. I filled the little plastic container with 3 scoop of rice and beans, a piece of meat. At the counter, they weighed my food, and the balance said $2.95. That’s when the lady decided to grab a heavy ceramic plate to put under my little plastic container of food, to change the price to 9.75 by adding extra weight on the balance. When I asked why was this plate placed under my food, they were literally speechless, and starting speaking in Portuguese saying nonsense. My friend and i were baffled.
This Brazilian restaurant in Richmond is hella shady!
I think the city of Richmond should look into it. Eat there at your own risk, but I would never take anyone there, nor referring...
Read moreOn my first visit- Buffet is expensive for such a limited variety of items 16.99 per person. I was charged 2.50 for a regular coffee no refills (which they didn't have a sign for) I served myself three times by my mistake I was charged 7.50 for coffee. Pluse buffet for 3 and my daughter had three helpings of coffee too. So at the end the bill was pretty pricy. Service was a three stars. The register ladies didn't speak English or Spanish so she couldn't accommodate me with answers to my question on what are the names of the diffent Brazilian dishes. On my second visit I just wanted a couple items from the buffet, but I go to find out they switch items so they didn't have what I was looking for. I chose some sweet cooked plantains & come "chayote" (chayote is in spanish) in butter sauce. Food doesn't have labels so I don't know what the variety of Brazilian dishes are on display, Other than bean & rice. The register lady spoke English and I had a short conversation with her about the pastries. She didn't know how to call the different pastries she didn't make an effort to encourage me to taste them or even buy them. While I was paying for my two iteams a argument in the kitchen broke out between to loud as beck women in Brazilian language and it was pretty intense. It went on for a bit and continued as we left, so that...
