Dollar General — Local services in Ridgeway

Talk about TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT, EMBARRASSMENT!! I visited this particular location as my husband, our 4 year old son and myself have done for at least the past 3 years. On this particular visit we bought several items both food and non food products. I used my EBT card for food items and we had anywhere btwn 20-25 items, both registers open, fairly steady customers in the store. We finally get to check out, well a guy name Michael was the boy whom checked us out. He acted/pretended to be nice and as I paid ebt for the food items and then used a card for partial purchase for non food items, waited for the remaining balance to pay in cash. He started seeming to be annoyed, I repeatedly apologized and thanked him for his patience, and even apologized to the lady behind me. As I proceeded to walk off, I heard me Michael laughing and muttering, however before I got to far I looked back at him one last time and seen him make a face and roll his eyes. Are you really serious? Like are you kidding me? Before I exited the store I stopped at the lady employee at the other register and waited patiently for her to finish up with her customer before saying excuse me, may I ask what his name is? And she answered Michael! I walked out. I'd love to hear dollar general reach out to me about this matter. I've done tons of business with them and get treated like this? Hell no. If I don't get a response I will do my homework and find out a cooperate number for this...

I always love shopping at any and all Dollar general stores. Great deals, great selection and variety of things that I am looking for. However this particular dollar general in Ridgeway Virginia was amazing....I love how clean and organized this store was tonight when I stopped in to buy luvs diapers for my son. And the cashier tonight Friday January 18th-2019 was absolutely amazing and friendly and helpful soooo much. I truly and greatly appreciate her for everything. I cant remember her name but if y'all can look up today's date and the night shift you should know who im talking about. the young ladies name is Tammy. So thank you so much for miss Tammy. You are awesome and so very sweet and helpful. I will most definitely be back to visit this store and recommend this store to any and everyone I know. I do not feel safe enough to park here for less than 30 mins after the store had closed; to catch a brief rest and nap to continue driving as a travel nurse.

Instead of that employees who were stocking after hours of 2150-2230; could have come to check to see if everything was alright now if I needed medical attention. Instead I was startled and questioned by law enforcement, and ID/background ran.

After I was checked out, I was then given the green light stay for a few more mins of rest; but after all of that who would want to stay and try to catch more sleep?

I'm driving a $58k '23 Genesis in pearl white, I don't think I could have been that suspicious or scary.

As much as I and my family were patrons of Dollar General, this will be my last encounter with the brand.

This is why people of color traveling are afraid to stop anywhere especially in rural areas. This could have turned into something much and could have been escalated all by a miss understanding.
