The river itself was great. Was not impressed with the customer service. The main gentleman who owns the place was very pleasant and friendly. First impression walking up to pay for canoe, no one was at counter a little girl was randomly walking around in shop, and a guy who must be working there picked up a binky and didn’t say much to us then called for a lady to come to desk, she was helpful and gave us route to dock when we hit our “3 hr mark” ( we only wanted a 3 hr float) but coming from someone who hasn’t canoed one years (we aren’t experienced and had a total of 4 in a canoe) 1smaller child , it took us a bit longer to get down river, (drought year also made water low) we struggled a bit. We had down our pickup time for 3 (started around noon) and didn’t get to the pick up point till 4 . So one of the gentleman’s was waiting for us over an hour, we had no clue! We assumed pickups happened every 20 min or half hour , again we aren’t familiar with how things are done at the rental place . So we get the boat out of the water which we felt was very unprofessional that we had to drag the boat up a bit and only when it started scratching the cement top did he come down and help, without even greeting us mind you (we were the ones saying hi) then he tells my husband he expected us at 3. Really?! For someone who has been doing this business for years you should know anything can happen people may or may not arrive on time especially with 2 young kids (4 in a canoe and inexperienced) also they all smoke so be prepared. We weren’t impressed, unprofessional and with money spent will purchase our own canoe and try a new spot .customer...
Read moreMy sister and I went in to rent kayaks a few months ago. I can't comment on the quality, because we decided not to stick around long enough to see what kind of quality the kayaks were. The reason we didn't stick around was because the employees were kind of frightening. There were several teen aged punks hanging out and I think may have worked there. They really didn't offer to help, so I'm not sure if they actually worked there or not. After some time a middle aged man with a mohawk haircut asked if we needed help. By this time I had decided that I felt too uneasy about the situation and decided to forgo the kayak trip with my sister. This was my one and only trip into this establishment. Maybe my first impression was totally wrong of this place (I hope it was), but I certainly didn't want to put my life and the life of my sister into the hands of these people. The place was kind of junky too. My first impression was certainly...
