I went to the Wilderness Trail Restaurant the other night thinking that it was a great addition to Ridgway and had great reviews. My party and I only wanted to get appetizers and beers, so we placed an order for water and some appetizers and asked for a beer menu. After receiving our waters, the waitress only came back and quickly filled our waters. She never asked for our drink order and didn't update us on the status of our food (that we had ordered 30 minutes prior). After waiting an additional 30 minutes (an hour long wait for appetizers?) and seeing a table that had come in after us receive and finish their meals we decided to leave. After a person in my party went to find our waitress and tell her that we were leaving, she was rude and said that our appetizers were on the way and that she would get our drink bill. My friend said that we didn't have a drink bill because we had nothing that we ordered (we got water) but she said she had to go check first (how does she not know all we got was water?). I'm not impressed. I frequent the Ridgway area for work and would have brought many more people here. Needless to say, we will be going elsewhere.
Update 1: I posted this review on Facebook first and was treated rudely by what I assume is one of the business owners or someone associated with the business somehow.
Update 2: I see employees (including our waitress) have been reviewing the business on Facebook and Google to negate and bury mine and others' negative reviews....
Read moreI really wanted to like this place, but my experience was not great. I was visiting home and my parents took me and other family out for dinner for my birthday. I ordered and asked if they had unsweetened iced tea. The waitress was quick to say absolutely. Whatever they brought me was not an unsweeted regular iced tea. My suspicion is that it was some kind of diet lemon tea. I ended up with a migraine which are triggered by my artificial sweetner allergy. Then, I ordered the pimento burger medium well. The bun and pimento cheese were fine, but the burger itself was burnt with a quarter inch of hard black burger on the outside. It was disgusting and almost impossible to chew. Initially, the service was good and then as the restaurant got busier, things went down hill. The staff bringing out the food had trouble listening when we said several times who the fish sandwich went to versus who got the fish dinner and who each burger went too. Then when we wanted boxes and to pay, we waited over 30 minutes for the waitress to come. Perhaps with better management/quality control or more staff this place would be a four or five...
Read moreThe bartender our party had was very nice, got our drinks in a timely manner and made sure our needs were met. The problem was when I had a question regarding the bill and explained my concern, the owner, and 2 other waitresses seemed to very offered that someone was questioning them. I took responsibility for possibly misunderstanding what I was told over the phone by a waitress. My party and myself took responsibility for the $172 bill we received as I told the owner it was okay, we all will split the bill. A weekend later the owner confront 2 members of my party while they were attending another party that had no affiliation to my group of friends. The owner confronted these 2 in regard to the one star review I had left. The review was not made by the 2 members she confronted. Make sure to speak with the owner prior to booking for a party, not a waitress staff, so there is no confusion and you are given all the rules. Food- fries are great, I always get a steak salad which is good, the chicken bacon ranch sandwich was very...
