They should really have negative stars for this hospital. I went there with severe kidney pain and was rolling in the floor and crying due to pain and the nurse there seemed to have no empathy. There was also an elderly lady with a cut and they had her waiting. When I asked the nurse to at least give me something for pain, she rolled her eyes which insinuated she thought I was being dramatic. This hospital should just be closed. People near the area of Rio grande choose to go there because it is the closest, but probably don’t expect to wait hours to be seen. I waited an hour before I decided to leave because it didn’t seem I was going to be tended to at any time. If I would have known this hospital was SO BAD, I would have made the drive to Mission since the very beginning. Mission hospital took less than the hour Rio Grande hospital had me waiting to complete all my tests and give me results. People like that (I wish I would’ve gotten her name but I was in severe pain, but the date was sept 29) should not be privileged to be called nurse. So fed up with this place! I recieved a bill from them for the ambulance when I was in labor and I explained that I gave the guy my information for my insurance and he typed it into the computer. Lady on phone said "Well it says here you never gave us your insurance and you had 90 day to claim it" How could I claim something I never got a statement for before now?! I started to get a little argumentative and thats when she goes to say "Ohhh I guess you did. Disregard the bill until the claim is settled." Such bs. My husband is NOW dealing with this also. He was KNOCKED out on the ambulance ride but when he finally woke up to the doctor in the ER he gave him the insurance so how could my husband give them his insurance to the ambulance when he was passed out?! He never got a statement till now and theyre saying "Well you had 90 days to claim it" once again, how could he claim something when he knew nothing about the statement until 120 days later and is just now recieving a statement. Took my mother cause she had a very bad stomach pain. They couldn’t take her in without her giving the $50 copay. Once she paid they gave her a room. They did all studies necessary to come to find out she had gallstones. They had told her that they were gonna do the procedure to remove them once the swelling went down. They gave her medicines and such just to send her home the next day with medicines and a referral for a specialist. I called and confronted the nurses in charge of my mother and asked why they didn’t just transfer her to another hospital. She got offended and told my mom that if she is going to go back with the same pain that they weren’t going to touch her. They were just going to transfer her.. The moral of this review is that, They just care bout the money and getting paid at the end of the day. Not about the persons health. She was in very much pain that she couldn’t walk and they just didn’t do anything for her. She should had just continue taking anti-inflammatory medicine at home and saved her money..
