Cabezon Community Center and Park — Local services in Rio Rancho

I came here with my dog because I had heard that the dog park here was very nice. I actually was quite disappointed in the enclosed Dog Park area, after having been recently to North Domingo Baca Park. The ground is gravel rather than the very soft mulched cottonwood at the other park. There's really not much in the enclosed area; no ramada or other shade; there were also no other dogs in there... they were mostly running around on the grass unleashed, even though they were supposed to be leashed. My biggest complaint is all of the green grass! Of course it's nice to have some but this obviously requires a huge amount of water. Not to mention maintenance costs. It seems to me it would have made a lot more sense to put up more shade structures and less grass. I would not call Rio Rancho a City of Vision. This is coming from a Tucsonan who knows what is happening to...

They need to rename this to a non-community center. They won't let you go inside to use the bathroom, even though they have perfectly functioning restrooms. We take our son to a bus stop in the parking lot for the public school and we have multiple instances where we need to pee and there is a woman sitting inside doing absolutely nothing and will not allow it. Just a heads up there are zero restroom facilities here, not even a port a potty.

Famtastic visit. Went for the food truck festival. Very well kept and spacious. There were 31 trucks plus some other vendors. Live music from a hilarious variety band (blanking on the name, sorry guys). There were several hundred people with plenty of room for more. Will update...
