Having been dragged around for weeks I was told that my motherboard was shorted out between the power supply and cpu, with no fix other than a replacement mother board with a price tag over $400 + $32 for replacement charging jack + $85 w/ $4.70 for shipping to ASUS (later found admittedly to be a lie) + his shop bench fee of $50 (originally agreed to be waived if he could not fix the components personally) for a grand total far exceeding the full-time student budget discussed prior to my initial visit to fix it. During our fourth phone conversation we agreed that fix was out of budget once again and that I would pick up my Still Broken laptop for his max fee of $125.
The next week I show up unannounced to witness said business owner palying on my laptop, a somehow miraculous explanation unfolds now with a price tag of $205.22 for a machine that was supposedly in a state beyond repair. Before payment I proceeded to ask for detailed statements from ASUS (the part that was a lie) and if we could stick to the agreed upon price to pick up my laptop. He began to go on his regular long winded, fast talking style of lying his way into or out of situations before becoming visibly angry when I once again asked for an invoice from the outside company who supposedly replaced the charging jack then responding in a gruff tone and in the most unprofessional manner I have ever witnessed exclaiming how "Ignorant of you.. Yada Yada yada". At that point I had enough and provided payment for services rendered and told him that it was the end of the conversation one he would continually try to reinnitiate before the transaction had concluded.
I am appreciative of the efforts that were put into fixing my laptop and expressed so to the business owner, yet his behavior and fixes are not to professional standard and overpriced compared to figures from more reputable companies. My charging jack does work however the charging cable inserts at an angle and the repairs are admittedly fragile.
I do not recommend IES Computer Store for sales or repairs, I never expected to be called "Ignorant" by any sales...
