I have to describe my experience with this place. Been going here for years-and always,I am treated with such great professionalism. To me that means a lot....because I'm a very small-(micro)-producer. I may not be one of the "Top Shelf" accounts to these guys, but every time I come in they treat me like I am - and baste me with a full turkey baster full of knowledge when I ask questions about product. My last visit and purchase was on a Saturday (which happened to be an instructional class day).I live close,so I was the first customer to walk in - just wanting to get in,get my stuff, and get out. Whoever the girl was running the showroom floor (the one with the "dry" attitude and fake red hair.) does not have any product knowledge and really shouldn't be left in charge of customer relations......Unless her job were to barely acknowledge you, overlook your quandary in lieu of being professional and accommodating, and just being completely indifferent to the fact that you are there with money to spend and perhaps a question to ask. Once I got home and pulled the receipt to record into my material budget - I noticed that she had charged me for a gallon of material instead of a quart. That may not sound like much, but it's a lot when you're on a material budget-and this stuff is expensive. This was an inconvenience on my part due to her inept social skills. She couldn't even pay enough attention while processing a material order on a register. 0.5 mm. of one half of one star for her. Monday morning,I went back with the receipt and box of material under dispute (and to pick up some more stuff). The rest of the staff was happy I was there , fixed the problem of the the overcharge , and even gave me a discount for my trouble. They made kindness manifest and Mr. Nelson even said Thank You by the door on my way out. 5 Gigantic Stars for...
Read moreReview edit: Spoke with them and they gave us some more in depth knowledge on latex in general and now we know to call Sawyer about any particular issues with the latex because he's incredibly knowledgeable about that stuff - Jessica UOFX
Usually the latex we order from here is top notch. I called twice to find if the batch had any issues and was told it got sent straight from the source through manufacturer to us faster than usual. I dont know but ive been doing this long enough to know that this consistency isn't normal and as I stressed, should have been rectified. I had complaints of massive shrinkage from customers and as you can see it gunked up on the brush instantly after putting on the plate even with mixing with the suggested distilled filtered water. So Ive gone through more than twice the brushes. The bottom of the bucket, its about 2.5 inches thick of chunky paste, looks more like half set plaster Paris than latex. Usually I can scrap the bucket and all that is lost is what may have stuck to the side. This is about 4 lbs unusable. Would appreciate taking me serious this...
Read moreI've been looking all over Atlanta for some place that knew ever a LITTLE about mold making and various special effects, and I hadn't been able to find anywhere. All other places I've gone didn't have anyone who actually knew about the process. The employees at "The Engineer Guy", however, had a detailed answer for EVERY question I had. Two employees in particular, Benji Dove and Logan Long, were eager to answer all of my questions and point me in the right direction for everything I needed. The people that work have a real passion for everything special effects. The store itself also had a wide variety of products that were much cheaper than anywhere else I'd previously gone.
Overall, this is the best place I've ever been in regards to helpfulness of staff and selection of product. One visit made a life long...
