When I first joined everything was fine but after not going to that gym for a while, I tried to cancel. When I first called, a guy said I had to write a letter (very old school and weird) and I asked if there was any possibility I can just go up in person and cancel and they said no that was the only way. I had something come up and completely forgot about this. So when I called again, I asked the same question and this time another rep (woman) said I always had the option to go up in person and cancel (even though I explained to them what the first person told me and they even sounded confused). So I went up there and paid off my balance. After that I asked the woman if there are going to be any more charges after that so I can make sure nothing else should be charged and she told me no and Im all set (also she never gave me my receipt for the paid balance and she said she has to keep that one for record and I requested for another receipt and she said she will have someone email it to me so I was fine with that). Then few days later I was charged AGAIN. I called in and spoke to ANOTHER person and he said hes been working there for years and knew the cancellation process and told me the charge was for canceling earlier than 30 days (I was NEVER told there was going to be fee for canceling earlier than 30 days). I complained to him about this and told him I practically paid $70 just to cancel with them and was told different things. He apologized and explained to me the woman I spoke to was new and should of informed me about that and said he will try to have the General Manager to contact me about the issue. Gave him my name and contact information and waited 3 weeks (this was around the holiday so I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt). After waiting that long and no phone call, I called back and spoke to the same person and he said because of the holiday they have been busy or haven’t been around to do it, and he will reach out the general manager again. And now a month later with NO PHONE CALL AND NO EMAIL RECEIPT THAT I REQUESTED, I got scammed out of $70 because of lack of communication and some of employees not knowing how to do their job especially the general manager. This place is so unorganized and seems like no management is ever available when it comes to this type of issue. Read moreI've been a loyal member at WORX Gym for over a year, consistently paying my membership--even during months I didn't go. I recently noticed a charge of $67 that I didn't recognize, so I reversed it through my bank until I could confirm what it was for. When I called the gym to get clarity, the first employee kept placing me on hold to ask someone else basic questions. She eventually told me she was from a different location just covering a shift and couldn't help but would leave a note in the system for someone to follow up. I'm not sure that note was ever placed. My payment date is set for 7/11. Days later, today, When I called the gym to ask about it, the first representative I spoke with sounded visibly annoyed by my questions about the charge. When I mentioned I had never missed a payment, she snapped back, "Ma'am, you have missed a payment--in July. ...wait--it was this month??" That attitude alone set the tone for how little they care about their customers.
I kept asking for a manger to which she placed me on hold to speak to the location manager, Alvaro. I explained the entire situation and asked if he could remove the late fee considering I've never missed a payment before this, and the charge wasn't ignored, it was paused until I got clarity. He told me he couldn't remove the late fee, even with a clean payment history and even though I've supported this small business for over a year.
I explained that as a full-time working mom and small business owner, I make sacrifices to pay this membership when I could easily go to a cheaper gym. His response? That I was free to cancel and that removing the fee wouldn't be fair to "10,000 other customers," even though I was never shown or sent this so-called policy he kept referring to. I also asked if I could speak to someone above him, and he flat-out said no, claiming the owner doesn't deal with these matters. As a business owner myself, I found that unacceptable.
What shocked me most was his comment that if I chose not to pay, it would "hurt me in the long run" by going on my credit. That kind of language toward a paying customer is not only unprofessional, but a huge red flag.
At the end of the day, it's not just about the fee, it's about how customers are treated. Loyalty, integrity, and common courtesy go a long way in business. Sadly, WORX Gym doesn't seem to understand that. If you're considering a gym that values its members and treats them with basic respect,...
Read moreThese people are GOONES! They will lure you in and take your money! DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!!!!! We attempted to cancel multiple times and they don't return your calls, they charge your for ALL KINDS OF FEES and the owner is RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL! We filled out cancellation paperwork and the owner never called to confirm AFTER MULTIPLE TIMES OF ATTEMPTING TO GET IN TOUCH and filling out PAPERS. Not only did she know we were trying to cancel she ADMITTED TO KNOWING AND STILL CHARGING US! SAYING our cards didn't go through! I have the bank statements SHOWING all her little sneaky FEES!
This lady is GOONE! She has all these excuses as to why we are being charged But I find it hard to believe that 6 month passes and all of a sudden we are charged $127.00 BACK FEE FOR PAST MONTH YET NO LETTERS OR CALLS ARE MADE PRIOR! We haven't step foot in that gym since July! Your meaning to tell me that in 6 month not once could your billing department call us to find out why payments weren't being made??? What kind of accounting is this???? Not to mention I have a phone logg which shows ME personally calling to dispute 52.00 they charged back in September? Not ONE call back! So I disputed with my bank! Here we go again Nearly November getting charged again!
We even were charged DOUBLE for annual fee! We left the gym then rejoined BOY what a mistake! They then began to CHARGE US 2x for annual fee, last year that was another ISSUE we had.
We paid upfront in November of 2017 then again in MAY and we were not even suppose to! WE TRIED CALLING like 50000x to get this fixed! Talking to the owner is like a Waste of time, she tried to back pedal until I realized I had previous paperwork and my husband went in to gym in person and was able to PROVIDE WRITTEN PROOF!
