Repeat customer until today!!! I always shop with my grocery bag in my cart. Today I carried it because I only needed 2 items and was in a hurry. Well apparently today there was an issue with my grocery bag (an actual grocery bag with freezer sections mind you, not a book bag, not a hand bag). The young thin employee with very short hair usually always checks me out. I bring a grocery bag because I do not like to contribute to the growing problem that is plastic pollution so I ask for no plastic. The short haired employee knows this and kindly caters. They were the one who had acknowledged the situation, realizing it was i they were speaking of on the intercom-- they apologized and pointed me to customer service so I could place my grocery bag up front. I had zero issue with placing my bag up front. I understood. I go to customer service and spoke to the employee at the counter asking, "Is this where I place my bag?" They said, "Yes". Directly to the right is a counter that's apart of a check out lane that didn't seem to be in use. I put it to the side away from the conveyor belt where it wouldn't be in the way. Customer service employee tells me, "You can't put that there." I ask, "Where am I suppose to put it?" They said, "On the floor." I said, "I am not putting my grocery bag on the dirty floor." She said, "Yes you are". So I pulled the 1 one product i managed to shop for during my short trip out of my grocery bag, dropped it on the counter, said nothing and left. I don't know what kind of heathen you have working at the customer service counter on Thurs May 8th @ around 5:30PM with the sour face but they were rude, inconsiderate and classless. I will not be back.
Since I'm here let me give an honest review about this location. It's not in the best area. There is a lot of beggers hanging out on the property. The carts are always littered all over the parking lot. I would park far away to avoid the issue of a cart running into my car. I'm a Flexitarian so my diet consists mostly of clean vegan foods. Food Lion upped their game last year and introduced more vegan friendly products into their stores. The fresh fruit, veg and greens are not my favorite at this location. Example, i waited over a week for sprouts to be restocked because they were moldy. They eventually took them off the shelf but no new product. The Bannana shelf 80% of the time is barren. Sad face. The only real good veg fruit products there are from the local businesses. Check for the words, "local", "NC farms", "Cottle Farms" is a good one. The staff. THE STAFF. I swear they are all mad at the world. There was only 1 employee that was always helpful and ACTUALLY SMILED-- SMILED ! Crazy new concept right!? (I spoke of them above in my earlier statements.) Shelf items stay stocked for the most part but... always check the dates on your products. Overall it's not a terrible store but they could definitely work on their customer service (amongst...

So it has been cleaned up and it has people in it that wants to work and take pride in their workplace. **I called earlier today to get a cake & cupcakes, my son needed for a activity. I Explained that I needed part today other Friday. I also told her that it had to be a Yellow cake. I am unable to drive and that is why I called because someone else had to pick it up. My son got the cake but it was NOT anyellow cake, I understand completely that anyone can make a mistake but when I called back the person who answered informed me she was in bakery and that she pulled the cake for me but that she knew NOTHING about it having to be yellow... Funny because when I checked my voicemail I had a message from Food Lion telling me that all she had was Chocolate and that they hadn’t noticed before...
Read moreI contacted this foodlion on or around March 2nd-3rd to place a cake order for March 19th with a pickup time of 10:30am. They called me to confirm around the 16th of March which I confirmed everything with them. On March 19th , ( the morning of my son’s celebration) Foodlion called me around 11:00am asking if I could come pick the cake up at 1:00pm. I asked had they already made the cake and she said no!! So I told her don’t worry about it & I picked up a premade cake from Walmart.... What’s the point of placing a in advance cake order if you not even going to have the cake ready when it’s supposed to be ready. I will never place a order here again. I usually go to Walmart anyway but since I just moved to this side of town , I decided it would be less hassle to drive across town but from here on out , I’ll drive across town no questions asked to make sure my children have the birthday cake...
