What I can say is that the staff is nice and the place is clean. Shout out to Ricardo, great guy.
What makes me give it a 2 star review is how crowded the place is with kids just messing around, and how you're rung out. Reading the big sign on the wall, there are 3 rules I feel need to be pointed out: One customer per table at a time Wait to shop until the goodwill team signals they are ready Be respectful of other shoppers
Every time I've gone there have been groups of 3-5 teenagers crowding the new bins, and getting mad at you when you try to make room for yourself to pick. Beyond that, they'll be sneaky and try to grab an item off the top of the new bin or move something to get a better view before the employees say you're good to shop. They'll also sit in the bins and play on their phones, and give you trouble if you ask to pick in that bin. It seems that the staff is not holding up their own rules.
Compared to other bins locations I've been to, you have to empty your whole cart onto a scale, versus just weighing the whole cart and the staff setting the tare on the scale to the weight of the cart. With how crowded the place is, it can take almost half an hour to check out, and the line will sometimes extend back into the aisles, making it hard to shop.
I was excited that this was coming, but it's been a big letdown so far.
So, my two suggestions to management are: (1) Actually enforce your posted rules (2) Adopt a similar checkout system to other bins locations, or crosstrain and divert back-of-house staff to...
Read moreI never feel compelled to write reviews on places I attend, but this is the "once in a blue moon" time I actually will: an unfair monopoly exists in the store. I've personally gone a few times now and I've gotten pretty nice stuff everytime, however I've noticed some very questionable business practices ongoing. At first I thought I was wrong, but the other day I noticed an employee come close to a customer, tell him exactly where some valuable items would be, and in turn was offered $20 from him. Now I may not be the most familiar with laws regarding this, but I'm pretty sure that's illegal. I decided to very calmly confront both the employee and the customer, asking them if this is common and tolerated- after which, they both left as quickly as they could. The employee went inside the back room with the bins and waited till I left, while the customer grabbed what he could and left fast. I don't like to raise problems, so I decided to leave it at that, HOWEVER.. I strongly believe this outlet needs to keep a closer eye on what their employees are doing, to ensure customers return and are not discouraged from coming back ever again. That aside, I think this outlet has the potential of much higher rating if this issue...
Read moreBefore you head to the goodwill outlet you have to know that itâs not your typical goodwill. Everything is in bins. Thereâs no sizes, colors or any type of organization. Except this location does try to put all the jeans in one place and coats in one place. Then thereâs the home, shoes and bags. Which is not the case at all outlets. You have to be prepared to dig around for things. If you spend a few hours digging around youâll find some great stuff! I will say I feel like this location has a lot more kids clothes than I expected. So if you have little ones this is a great location to check out! Iâm glad thereâs a closer location to me. Iâve been to the St Louis one which is 2.5 hours away from me. Now this one is a little less than 1.5 hours away. (YAY!) Once you fill up your cart you head to check out where you PAY BY THE POUND. Itâs an insanely good deal! Iâve spend $40 on about 30 pieces of clothing. Make sure you take your reusable bags, hand sanitizer and some snacks after youâre done thrifting. Some people take gloves but I personally like to feel the fabric before I buy so I just wash my hands when Iâm done and use hand sanitizer. Iâd also wear some comfy clothes if you plan on being...
