This is a kill buyers market. Not a place to get any premium money for your animals; be it cattle, goats, or horses. Central livestock will sell your animals for way more. Also, Rock Creek is not set up to safely move or house small livestock like goats and sheep. Our goats got out of the pen they put them in, I questioned the lady and she said she would make sure it didn't happen again. Well it did happen again and I will tell you this...Watch your drop off slip vs what you get paid. They messed up on our check and paid us for a 20 pound animal instead of our 110 pound animal. It took a week for them to somewhat straighten out our check. I had to call numerous times and they had no clue where our animal ended up in the sale or if he even went through the ring. Sketchy if you ask me. I also know a few other people who didnt get paid for the animals they dropped off. 1 person dropped off polled Angus and got paid for horned animals. BIG price difference in that. You get paid low prices and they still try to screw you out of money. The price difference never seems to be in the favor of the seller though.They have been doing this long enough that these mistakes should not be happening. I had a very bad experience with Rock Creek Auction. When you bring animals for them to Sef they give you a very low p price. But when you go to buy animals from the, the prices are much h higher. They show one price at first, but when itS time to pay, they change it and charge more. Inoticed extra charges on my receipt, but it's not clear what those fees are for. When I asked about it the lady in the office was very rude. I told her the price was $700, O and she suddenly said it was $900 instead. Be careful if you go there - and I think they might have people helping them raise the prices. I bought 30 bales of straw last week and it was very nice. ( that's why I am giving 2 stars. I asked if they knew if they were getting more. The guy told me to call on Thursday morning and check. So on Thursday morning I called and there was no answer. I did not call back because when I googgled them it said they were not open and wouldn't be until Sunday. So I called today (Sunday) and a guy answered the phone and I asked if they had straw bales this week. He angrily told me I needed to call on Thursday and when I told him I did and no one answered. He said he was sorry the girl must have been away from the phone and why didn't I call back.
