Our community is growing and quickly. There are now options that didn’t exist in the 80s and 90s. Land values are on the rise, our infrastructure will need improvement, but unfortunately on the south side of town off Hwy 276, between John King and 1565, there are limited options for convenience and affordable groceries and hygiene. Last night after leaving Sweetwater Grill, I was forced to travel down 276 to John King, in Rockwall County for gas. That frustrates me. If you visited the 7-Eleven located at John King and 276 you’re well aware that they are overwhelmed. Customer service is lacking. Thank goodness for Family Dollar in Union Valley. I have visited this location many times in the last couple months as it’s on my route to and from work. It is always clean, organized, and aggressively priced. My favorite daily beverage, Electrolit Hydration, is $2.50 per bottle. Compared to $3.49 in the next county over. The staff is kind, friendly, and made up of mostly locals. Read moreI shop at FD all the time and all that work there are just wonderful the only trouble is you show those wonderful commercials on TV where the aisles aren't stacked with boxes and things in the way but every Family Dollar that I go to in this area they're always have boxes and they're running around trying to put stuff up and clean up I think you need to make your stores just a little bit bigger so you can accommodate all the stuff that you carry but other than that the girls that work at that store just fantastic especially the main manager she knows me when I come in she calls me Miss Linda very sweet and very personal people that work there you need to give all of them a raise thank you for asking me to rate the store but it's a one with me other than sometimes it's very cluttered but that's not their fault they're busy all the time trying to put stuff time.
