So the property and the cabins were nice and we enjoyed that. What We did not enjoy was being lied to. I called like a month prior to our stay to see if we could pay to check in earlier and the person that answered me said it wouldn’t be a problem that if our cabin was ready we could check in early with no extra fees. I asked her also, if cabin was not available if we could pay to be on the property to go to river and they said of course! Wrong! We left at 5 am to get there around 10 am and when we arrived they said none of that was possible at all! One lady was fixing to give me passes to at least be on property and the manger said nope you can’t do that. The manager was rude and not trying to be any help at all. I told her that someone there told us we could come early and see if all that would be possible and she assured us we could. And she kept nodding her head and saying nope wrong! So we had to wait around for hours with no where to go. I would have waited to come til check in if I wasn’t lied to. That’s the reason I called a month before. They the. told us if cabin was ready before 3:30 they would check us in. So we went by at 1 pm and it no luck still, but now they allowed us to get on property when they previously said absolutely not! Finally they checked us in at 3:30 pm and I think the manager made sure we couldn’t check in til this time because she didn’t like that I was trying to defend ourselves and tell her that someone on her staff lied to us. Later the same manager came up to us with a totally different attitude and tried to apologize and offer us some ice cream, seriously!! I didn’t believe her or anything that was coming out of her mouth. And then to top it off there was so many racist people on the property. While walking to the river, we were approached several times that we were on private property. We showed them our wristbands and they were like oh ok your good. These were other people staying there! Do they own the river or the property? Like wow!! I could care less what they were doing and would never approach anyone like that! We will NEVER return to this property!! We were excited to go and tell our many friends and family about our stay but oh no never!! Very disappointed with it being a beautiful place and having been lied to. I hope this isn’t happening to other guests. Her being the manager, the staff and her should all be on the same page. Or she needs to retrain her staff for these inconveniences. She came by later and dropped off this bag like it was going to make...
Read moreI’ve been coming to Seven Bluff Cabins EVERY YEAR OF MY LIFE for our family reunions. It’s a tradition! I have a terrible skin allergy to pecan trees and cedar tree sap, that would typically steer anyone away once you’re first exposed, but this place is such an oasis that we keep coming. The grounds are built on a pecan tree grove and when they’re fully grown they provide nice shade! They have built a private swimming pool for days when the river is too crowded or you’ve just had too much river fun and just need to wind down. They have gotten strict on some of their rules over the years but it makes sense for a place that is growing in popularity. It is literally the best spot on the river. It’s typically a 2 hour or less tubing ride to frio country which is the perfect amount! They do get booked rather fast so plan ahead (I mean months ahead or even up to a year if you want to make it a reoccurring trip) if you rebook the exact days and cabin at check out for the following year you are secured your spot for sure! There is also a lady who makes various snacks in a little shack outside the main office and that is a plus for when you need something extra to eat. The store inside the main office is very expensive (but everything in this area is). These cabins are well kept, clean, crisp, constantly improving and is a must visit location for the frio river! They do allow animals and guests but have a 2 pet limit and 3 car limit on the larger cabins. So just follow their rules and plan accordingly and you will have the time of your life! They do have cable, internet, A/C and full equipped kitchens so it isn’t a complete disconnect from the world like it used to be but just focus on the views and nature and you won’t find a need...
Read moreI have been here many times but I hadn’t been in about 16 years. They have made a lot of improvements (even though it was great before). It is in a beautiful location in between Concan and Garner State Park. There is beautiful scenery and access to the Frio River with a nice swimming spot right at the property. They have also added a very nice swimming pool and combination pickleball court/basketball hoop. They have pickleball equipment to rent. There are many different types of cabins—very large modern cabins for big groups and small cabins for two people and everything in between. My group had a small cabin for two (note—there is not an oven, stovetop, grill, or campfire spot for these), a medium size cabin that is good for a family with one or two kids, and a larger cabin (not one of the really big ones) with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a loft area with four beds in it. The two bigger cabins had full kitchens that were very well-equipped, grills, and a nice campfire area. One of the other great improvements they have made since my last trip is large cement seating areas with a fire pit in the middle and a nice grill on it. That was great for sitting around the campfire and cooking dinner. The cabins were great. ||I highly recommend this place for families, couples, groups of families or...
