Avoid at all costs. This course is terrible at customer service. And would not refund my $$ after a terrible experience after one stroke of play.
I went early on Sunday 29 May to use the driving range and Burt couldnโt figure out the cash register. When I went out to the driving range there were zero range balls. I alerted them to no range balls but I had limited time so I departed.
I returned later to golf 9 holes. NO ONE explained the rules of the carts or the GPS cart function or where I should or should not drive the cart.
I teed off on number 1, drove my cart to the ball and the golf cart died. I tried several options on the cart, forward and reverse and nothing. I walked back to the club house and requested my money back considering I only played 1 stroke on the course. Burt insisted that he could not refund me and that the error was on me for not knowing how to operate the GPS cart.
Later Mr. Stacy Young, the course owner, pulled up next to me in the parking lot. He directed two curse words towards me. Criticized my playing abilities and began to verbally attack me.
Absolutely deplorable customer service. They donโt explain how to use their carts, donโt give customers any orientation and then verbally attack them and their playing skills when a customer tries to address poor customer service. AVOID...
ย ย ย Read moreFVR not worth it. Weโve played this course 3 times the first two years not really having a problem other than the course is just beat up. This year we played this course mid July and the course is still beat up not worth $90 at all. I think an even bigger slap to the face is you arenโt allowed to have coolers even though youโre paying $90 to play in the heat. What was really upsetting was how poorly staff treated us. In one of our groups we were not aware of the โruleโ no carts in the parking lot. Then manager was extremely rude about it accusing us of not following rules (โbig guy obviously doesnโt follow rulesโ) claiming 1 golf cart cost 10 grand (yeah right). We had no issues taking the carts back onto the course even though the manager was extremely rude and unhelpful. During our round a player ordered food from the club house and was needing change. The delivery person said he didnโt have change and insisted on taking it as a bigger tip. Yeah thatโs right insisted on taking a bigger tip. It sucks this is the only decent course in the area but just know the 90 bucks to get treated like bs not worth it not sure weโll ever be back. Lastly the ironic thing is after we left the vacation house on the way out the manager was sitting on a โโ10kโโ golf cart in the...
ย ย ย Read moreI have played this course several times a year over the last 3 years as recent as July 4th weekend. The property has a new owner as of late 2020 I believe, and the change is evident. The course is in much better shape, with really good greens, tee boxes are much better with convenient markers at each tee box, etc. The course itself is a very fun and good hill country track for any golfer. New golf carts, free new unlimited range balls, and the bar/patio area has really good food and drinks and service for us has always been very good. Yes, at $70 on weekends it is higher than it used to be, but if you want to pay $30 bucks for a round of golf, go to Utopia Golf (which is really fun too but not nearly as nice). I think the new owner really cares about the quality of the course and it is showing. In the spring it was as good or in better shape than Blackhorse in Houston which is a $100 weekend course. Highly recommend playing here if you are in the area. Would be a fun place to host a tournament too with a group of friends and then float the Frio the next day or...
