Sacramento Executive Airport — Local services in Sacramento

Designers took what was a friendly, easy-to-navigate airport and overly designed and complicated it to the point that it's user-unfriendly. It's unnecessarily complex. If you take the shuttle to the new terminal (B) from the parking lots, they drop you on the first level at baggage claim where there are no sky caps and no way to check bags. No signage to direct you to elevators to the second level where you can finally check your bags. And what's with that "people mover" to the gates? Really? Is that the best they could come up with? Yes, terminal B was in dire need of upgrade, but we hardly needed this monstrosity. And while I'm at it, the official webiste sucks. There are no maps of the terminals to tell you what airlines are in which terminal so you can pre-plan parking,...

Great facility and yummy food.

However, there are rumors regarding to ATC(air traffic controller)'s lack of professionalism and repetitive rudeness.

We encountered a few examples when we overheard ATC berates and give attitude to some pilots over some minor radio mishaps. Such as incorrect aviation phraseology and miscommunication that requires ATC to repeat.

All in all, the ATC is very knowledgeable but they seemed to be overwhelmed by the workload and thus project their stress on pilots from time to time.

Nice airport to fly in, but would not recommend it to students or fresh pilots. Causing inexperienced pilots unnecessary stress can lead to a safety of flight concern. Especially when the ATC's sole job is to help pilots stay safe in the air. Hope the management...

I hate this airport. The restaurant is forgettable and hopefully going away. The security is lacking. A guy almost stole a helicopter. Thankfully, he crashed it onsite and not in the neighborhood. Somehow he got away, so good job on the stellar surveillance. The planes take off early and often. It's not uncommon to hear them around 630 a.m. on a weekend. It's constant and infuriating. Imagine a leaf blower going off overhead every few minutes every day all day. And no one who works there seems to care. My hope is that one day it is razed for something better for the community....
