I hate this because this is the first review I've done for Lynd Farm and we've been coming for several years now. However this was my worse experience thus far and I'm not sure why this happened. Every year our family takes a trip to the fruit farm to get the fall favorites and we love every item we purchase. Usually we head over to the fun part and then to pick a 🎃. Well today things went differently. We always share a shopping cart because usually there aren't any left by the time we arrive. Today we arrived 15 minutes before open and I got in line with the cart we'd planned to share and as soon as the doors opened I grabbed the pies we needed before the rest of my family got there. Some of them were late because they came from different directions Zanesville and Hilliard. By the time everyone had everything they needed in the cart we headed towards the cash register. Now mind you I said we shared the cart and there were 3 separate transactions. I put all of my mom's stuff up there first and she paid and gathered her items. Next I put all of my stuff up there and 3 things remained in the cart (they were my sisters). So I asked my spouse to pay for our things and before he could get to the card reader the extremely rude cashier said can I have that pancake mix. I thought she needed it because something I bought didn't have a barcode, but no she thought I was trying to leave without her scanning something. I said these things aren't mine they're my sisters please take that off of my transactions because I'm not paying for that. Rule #1 in the customer service world never assume because assuming is bad. Instead of asking me if those items remaining in the cart were mine she assumed they were and tried to charge me. Good customer service is literally gone in this world and people no longer act like humans, but more robots with learned behaviors. I noticed things were different this year at Lynd Farms but I was going to let that pass until the assumption of me stealing pancake mix or whatever she assumed. I have a Human Resources background and my husband is a Software Engineer, we don't need to steal anything trust me. Word of advice this place needs to work on customer experiences and expectations because I'm...
Read moreDon’t get thrown off by the name. Lynd’s is more than just fruit. Yes, you can pick fruit during each point of their picking season, but they also have a lovely market which has quite the variety.
The semi-enclosed building houses everything from fresh produce (fruits and veggies), to pickled and canned items, packaged items like chips, fresh peanut butter and almond butter, ciders, to fresh dessert, and cheeses/meat. Plus, household goods like candles, wax melts, kitchen towels, and pillows. There’s also a selection of face and body items from the brand, Martha’s—things like serums, creams, lotions, and lip care items. They even have you covered with OSU gear like tumblers. Another thing to note is their smaller variety of apparel and kid’s buys like toys/stuffies.
On this trip, we snagged a squeezable bottle of local honey, local-to-OH maple syrup, pizza crusts, what looks like will be an amazing garlic marinara sauce, raspberry and peach tea concentrate (no sugar!), fresh Concord grapes 🤤, & hot canned peppers. All for about $60 bucks. We will definitely be going back for Steven’s Chocolate Cream Pie!
If you get hungry while walking around the market like we did, step back outside and enjoy your choice of 2 stands/food trucks. The food truck is mainly a bratwurst offering, and the stand to the left of the market has hot dogs, burgers, fries, etc.
We visited on a Sunday, early afternoon… it was packed! The longer we were there the better the checkout lines got, however. If you have quite a few items like we did, no worries—they will pack up your picks in a box if you want. Making it more easy to carry back to your car. I would recommend signing up for their newsletter, if you want to be aware of what items are being picked when and what they’re currently offering each step of the season. Especially for seasonal items...
Read moreGreat day for apple picking! Fuji are my favorite for the crunch and the sweet/sour taste. So fun to eat them fresh off the tree as you pick them. Don't be shy, the organizers even encourage that. At first I thought $25 for the big bag was pricy... since we are even picking them, but when I got home to see how many apples we stuffed in one bag, I was very satisfied. I think is is about 3 pecks, which would be about $45 in their store. But all that aside, the fun is in the picking with your wife and kids... finding the perfect ones that catch your eye and you can't live without! Jumping, stretching, and teamwork to get your hands on those pristine ones seemingly just out of reach. We also enjoyed the corn maze and bounce house race and corn hole across the road. Such a great place for young kids, as well as my teenagers. The maze is $11/person which gets you access to some other things too. In the maze there are 6 hidden objects to find, so it is more interesting than getting lost in the corn. They give you a map. They serve hot food for when you get hungry. Quality grilled burgers, brauts, and hot dogs and snacks and desserts. Campfires at night, with...
