Crackerboys Bass Team Trail (70+ Boats, 140+ fisherman) have been coming here for 13 years. Now that it is under new management, it is completely unorganized, and has made it VERY clear that they do NOT want Tournaments out of there anymore.
I (along with Lonnie) Run the Crackerboys and contacted them in Nov. 2014 and reserved our room and to let them know that the Trail was coming back again in Jan. 2015 again for the 13th year in a row. When we get there, they DO NOT have our room (we called and confirmed our room on Thursday before) and said they had to refund several other teams too because the lost all reservations. They said they would not open the store until 6:30 (15 minutes before daylight) and expected 72 people to stand in line to pay the ramp fee.
Many of our teams were there for 2-3 days in advance practicing and spending money in the restaurant, the cabins and store and gas. They KNEW we were coming. The last couple years, they would open the restaurant and setup a breakfast buffet starting at 5am and our guys packed the place. We were told by the new Manager that "had she known" (you run a business and were told all week how many boats would be there) that she coulda opened the restaurant. When told about our room, she said she heard, but thought it was "all taken care of". (It was, we went to Kissimmee for a room). It was Excuse after Excuse.
After the LONG run of tournaments there, we will NOT be going back. We have Marina' Fish Camps and small cities BEGGING us to come to them because of all the revenue this trail generates. I hope the owner sees this and realizes the Management is by far the BIGGEST problem.
This is by no means a "Resort". It was an WSOME, OLD FLORIDA Fish Camp destroyed by visions...

Read moreMy husband & I love this place! It feels like paradise! The 130 year old trees are a God given canopy over our airstream keeping us shaded. Pull through sites complete with brick pavers are awesome. Swimming, bike riding, pickle ball, airboat adventure, kayaking, or just relaxing with a view-- a great place!!! The pool is so lovely & the bathhouse cleaner than any we have seen in a while. Love the gator airboats being on the campsite grounds. The airboat owner is so kind. Jim, the campground manager is fantastic & befriended my husband our first week. Had the opportunity to taste some good food the chef cowboy made & it was very tasty!! Cheryl is very professional & accommodating to us in the office. This campground is a hidden jewel & has grown to be very special to our hearts. We will make plans to return in future years. Do yourself a favor & visit this campground!...
