Church of the Blessed Sacrament — Local services in Saint Paul

Our experience with Blessed Sacrament during our mother’s funeral was, unfortunately, very disappointing and disheartening. Despite the fact that our mother was a devoted member of this parish for over a decade—and had even pre-planned her funeral within the same calendar year—the process was riddled with poor communication and a troubling lack of empathy.

From the start, communication was below adequate. When the time came, the church initially attempted to charge us 125% more than the amount my mother had already arranged. After a lot of back and forth, we were ultimately just paid the correct, pre-agreed amount, but it added unnecessary stress during an already painful time.

We also had great difficulty arranging for a priest to go to the cremation facility to perform a simple blessing with holy water. It took repeated phone calls to get any assistance, and it never felt like a priority to them.

Regarding the funeral service itself, we were disappointed that none of the personal information we provided was incorporated. It felt completely generic—as if no effort was made to acknowledge who our mother was, even though she had spent years attending services and supporting this church both spiritually and financially.

Most painful of all, we didn’t feel any genuine compassion or empathy from the church staff. At a time when kindness and comfort should have come naturally, we instead felt like an inconvenience—like our mother’s service was just another task to get through.

Blessed Sacrament is my neighborhood (Catholic) parish since I moved to the area in the summer of 2017. My family has been pleased by the resources offered by the staff (and VOLUNTEERS) at Blessed Sacrament, including Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, adult education courses and regular outreach opportunities.

I am not a member of this church and never will. I along with some other neighbors are annoyed with the constant ringing of the bells every hour on the hour. You do NOT need to sound them so many times in one day. If I could I would give this church negative stars. I do not care for your church whatsoever. Also the parking situation when the parking lot is COMPLETELY empty people still park on the streets where they're not ...
