Hunters Gallery — Local services in Salem Township

Went there today intending to spend quite a lot of money on pellet rifles and pistols, plus ammunition and targets for my 16 year old grandson. All the pistol boxes on the rack were open so I took one CO2 pistol out (a Crosman Vigilante revolver style) and made sure the cross-hammer safety was on and the magazine and barrel were empty before testing the trigger. A woman immediately rushed over shouting "You can't take that out the box and dry fire it". I pointed out that the safety was on so it wouldn't do any harm to the valve at which point she screeched at the man behind the counter at the back of the shop "Rich, he's dry firing this". I called to Rich that the cross-hammer safety was on and he just shrugged his shoulders and went back to chatting to his friend. The woman then said to me "You need to take it back there to him" and walked off. At that point I decided I would rather spend my money in a store where they know something about customer service and common courtesy (just as I do in my own business) and left without making a purchase. Needless to say, I will not be going back and Hunters Gallery has lost several hundred dollars of business. It's a real shame as I have found Pennsylvania people to be generally very friendly and helpful, but maybe this woman is not a native of PA. If it was possible to give zero stars I...

I purchased a gun in this place I came back a month later to purchase bullets and a second gun. I walk in the gun store I waited 20 minutes in the back to get service not only me but other customers I said let me go to Walmart I purchase bullets there in 5 minutes after that came back a second time to the hunter gallery waited 15 minutes no service I decided to go to rite aid and come back I did I was waiting to be attended a old lady was attending another customer she finished with the customer look at me didn't even ask if I need help and walk away and just look at me I try to talk to her but she was ignoring me never again I will purchase or walk in this Hunter Gallery again . No one in that store ask me if I needed help and they walk away a different direction when they saw me...

Great store. The staff here is wonderful and knowledgeable. I was looking for a Remington left handed shotgun which other stores told me didn't exist or was out of stock. I came here and they checked their computer and said we can order that for you. A week later I walked out with my shotgun. The store has a very nice selection of items and they carry items for lefties ( not just one or maybe two ). I can't say enough about how helpful they are. This is the farthest store from me and I will not shop...
