Country Cafe — Restaurant in Salem Township

My father ordered biscuits and gravy… gravy was flat out cold and he found what appeared to be facial hair in the food. My mom ordered a bacon pancaked eggs and an English muffin… pancakes hard and so dry and news flash never got the English muffin! No comment about the eggs :) I myself ordered egg platter and pancakes…. Pancakes hard and dry the sausage was the same frozen sausage I buy myself for a quick breakfast in the morning and they were hard to cut. Our waitress was monotone and rude and literally never came back after we got our food even though she kept looking at me and my parents and it was so obvious we were done we still waited 10 min for a receipt after we watched her aimlessly walk around. BEST PART WE DIDNT EVEN GET THE RIGHT RECIPT we got the table behind us. We noticed the price was cheaper and tried telling them when we paid and they didn’t listen. While it was a plus for us to pay a cheaper total we feel horrible for the table that might get our ticket. Upon arrival everything was nice, newly renovated. My pregnant wife, 17 month old, and myself decided to give it a try as we usually get breakfast at Lori's up the road. We asked for scrambled eggs, as soon as possible for our 17 month old, the waitress tells us the kitchen is a little backed up so iy may take a while which is fine. Now.. were 56 minutes into our wait (I have gps tracking on my phone and my work truck) after mentioning to another couple that we've been there an hour the waitress gets nasty saying we weren't there an hour. Which she is right, its been 56 minutes. She then starts arguing with my wife and pulls our order ticket and says its only been 40 minutes. Which shows to me she held our ticket back roughly 15 minutes before putting it through. Which i very much so believe as she was walking around telling the other workers to slow everything down so the kitchen can catch up. I get that its newly opened, and youre getting in the flow of things. But to argue with my pregnant wife about how long we have been there is mind blowing, the back and fourth was...

I've had several good soups at this restaurant but felt it important to post about my last experience there. I ordered a bowl of seafood bisque soup for $5.95. It was thick and had a good amount of seafood in it. However, I took one spoonful and it was BEYOND salty. I generally like my food well seasoned, but this was truly inedible. I mentioned this to my waitress and asked if they might be able to do something. Immediately, I could tell that she wasn't pleased (FWIW, I didn't make a big deal of it). She grabbed my bowl of soup and took it back to the kitchen and after a few minutes, she came back with no soup but rather a cheque for the full amount and told me that nothing could be done to remove salt. I asked to speak with the manager and was told that was not possible and that I should just pay my bill and leave.

I mentioned my displeasure to the cashier and, while she seemed quite sympathetic to the treatment I'd received, she said she was powerless to do or say anything to address the matter. Needless to say, I won't be back to this...
