My first visit here, and everything went quickly and smoothly. Very helpful and friendly staff, efficient and personable at the same time. Dr. Hammodeh was very good about answering my questions. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Update: My cataract surgery by Dr. Kavanagh went very smoothly and easily. Every single person who helped, from Intake to Prep to Aftercare was incredibly kind, friendly, and efficient. Now I’m waiting for my second cataract surgery without anxiety or fear.

Update, March 2024: although I have no complaints about my cataract surgeries, my recent experience with a follow up visit with Dr. Kavanagh was not good. He is only at the Classen Road office once a week, and consequently, they cram as many people as possible into his schedule for that day. When I arrived, there was no place to park, and I was encouraged by one of the staff to double park in the back. She was very kind and lead me through the back corridor. However, after waiting for almost an hour and a half and talking with other patients around me, we discovered that we all had appointments with Dr. Kavanagh at either the exact same time or within five minutes of each other.

Dr. Kavanagh and/or his office staff have overextended how many patients can be seen at once. We all felt that this was very disrespectful of our time and various disabilities, as many of us were elderly and/or disabled. I have expressed my disappointment, but want to reiterate that the staff itself is very friendly and kind.

BTW, as I was leaving, having finally cancelled my appointment, I discovered that I was blocking another poor elderly couple in their parking place , who couldn’t maneuver their way out. With many apologies, I promised myself that I would never do that again … I felt so bad for them.

Bottom line for me is that I will not see Dr. Kavanagh again. He is a good surgeon, but is too difficult to get in to see. I will continue to see other doctors in...

Dr.Jacoub Hammodeh gives up on his patients! Both my husband and had our eye exams their. I told Dr Jacoub Hammodeh the distance on the current glasses were perfect but that I needed progressives. He then told me that the prescription I had was too strong and gave me what he thought was the right prescription. I went in a second time and he told he nurse in his office where I could hear to tell me that I need to wear 2 pair of glasses because I can't handle progressives. I told him no that he needed to check them again and then said they were cut wrong. I go in a 3rd time and bring in the last prescription from my last dr and told the tech to use those numbers and she did and I could see perfectly. When Dr Jacoub Hammodeh came in he tried to tell there wasn't a difference and had the tech get some lenses that he prescribed when the tech came back I told her that I'm not trying on the old lenses and again she spoke to him in his office where I could still hear and told the tech to tell me to let him do his job!!!! When my husband went and told him he couldn't see distance very well Dr Jacoub Hammodeh gave him a different pair to try and still didn't work and had the nerve to tell him he can't do...

The first eye exam I took I was told I had a condition behind my eye, and that I needed to schedule a medical appointment here. Luckily my insurance covered it, but it was a waste of time because my eyes were perfectly healthy. Bad first impression, as it seemed like they were trying to do it to fleece some money out of me as a patient.

To add on to the fact, they gave me someone else's prescription the first time, and when I came back to retest they were gaslighting me by telling me that it was just a little bit off. What! Going from a negative cylinder to a positive one is not "a little bit off." What are they smoking in this establishment?

Not only am I out of commission for glasses for another 2 weeks because they couldn't manage their documents properly, but they didn't own up to their mistakes or even try to apologize for it. At the very least they followed the law to give me a retest, so props to them for that.
