There is strong āla razaā leanings at this church. My family and I have been singled out for our being white. The pastor has preached against white people in his homilies. We were speechless and embarrassed as he went on about bigotry among caucasian peoples in our nation. Perhaps thatās true among some but not me or my family and a Catholic priest is outside his role of pastor of souls to be standing on a political soapbox. But Iām sure the bishop doesnāt mind.
Update: No its this Rose of Lima. I tried to join the KoC group and was also met with cold rejection.
Update: Just so youāre clear about how things operate at your church when youāre not there. I showed up to pick my daughter up from Mass. I walked into the front door of the church and was waiting by the holy front and happened to be wearing a baseball cap. A Hispanic man ran at me from the sacristy and said āyou canāt wear a hat when youāre inside church!ā Which to me is highly ironic and hypocritical. You walk in to the church before Mass and it might as well be a public park with all the conversation going on. Extremely disrespectful to our Lord in the blessed sacrament
Additionally, you try to go to Mass during the day and thereās no room for people - they have to stand out side of the small chapel. Common sense would say open up the big church for daily Mass. Translation? Daily Mass...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe church it self is always beautiful and clean. However,we have been with this church for 15yrs, the main church is now the hall. My older children ,all have done their communion and confirmation here and NOW! They are giving so many escuses in ordrer not to perform the religious ceremony. Like when my husband and I wanted to get married. After our church denied us from getting married, we went to speak to the archbishop. His snide remark was; "You two are way too young to know the real commitment marriage really is. Just live together for a couple of years and then if you're still wanting to commit. Then come back." I was so furious, but managed to tell him. " I do know couples in late 20's and 30's got married and in a year later divorce. You can't guarantee any age will be Successful, it's all by want to stay married or not. If it was true every Christian married couple should grow old and until death do then part, instead of divorces." Of course, he called me crazy. We will need this June 30 years married, with four children and three grandchildren. Pretty good for a couple of stupid...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe chapel is beautiful, the community a little older, cry room seems to be encouraged (our new church encourages children to participate in Mass, not be hidden in a back room). We did have major issues with the church staff.
We attended this church for a year (registered as parishioners and everything) and were TURNED DOWN to have our baby baptized because the woman in the front office "couldn't find proof that we had paid our tithing every week." I went to our bank and had to have a statement of the checks we had written printed out and returned to the office, asking to speak directly to the priest. The woman in the front office would not allow me to mwet with someone else and instead decided to spend more than a few seconds (like the first time we met) double-checking the computer and "didn't unserstand why we couldn't just use the envelopes." And finally allowed us to secure a spot in the Baptismal class. This was in 2013. We no longer attend this church because of the lack of welcoming and love that we believe necessary for our family to be part of a...
