As for the Mercado, the store is always clean and they usually have great deals on fresh produce and meat. I can't say the same for everything else. Prices tend to be rather steep on things like name brand box pastas, certain canned veggies, ice cream, cereal and soft/sport drinks. Usually these items cost about twice as much as your local HEB. But over all the experience is pleasant and no where near as hectic as an HEB. I can appreciate the Ace hardware store conveniently located next door. It helps to consider the Lowes a one stop shop. Read moreI’m from Houston and regularly use H‑E‑B as my grocery store. If we had a Lowe’s market in Houston, I would use this store as much or more than my H‑E‑B market. I was really impressed with the hardware store attached to this location. I didn’t need anything from there this trip, but good to know they have both combined. If I need to make a run to the hardware store, I can pick up snacks, beer and other accoutrements to my project! The house brand pancake mix was awesome. Fluffy as could be and only add water!
