Scripps needs to be BANNED from medical practice for preying financially on our community:
Scripps tried to charge me $10,000 for a simple abdominal CT scan, making me responsible for $1,000+ out of pocket with insurance!
My wife, a healthcare provider, found a reputable imaging center that will perform the SAME PROCEDURE for $500.
$10,000 vs. $500 for basic imaging of the stomach. And we wonder why health insurance is so expensive?
Scripps is charging 2,000% higher than its competition, with $9,500 in profit on the backs of the suffering. "Greed" isn't a strong enough word.
The national average (hospitals included) for a CT scan is $884, total cost. Yet Scripps is making $9,500 in PROFIT, for one scan.
Look up the 2021 LA TIMES ARTICLE calling out Scripps for egregious price gouging. I wish I had read it before I wasted my time with them.
Don't bother reply, Scripps. There is nothing you can say that makes you anything more than a blight on our community.
You have made healthcare completely inaccessible to people trying to live their lives...
Read moreAs a frequent patient at the Xi-Med building, I have never found a site map for Scipps La Jolla. I now need to go to the Outpatient Pavilion ............... I have searched AND SEARCHED, but there does not appear to be a web site where I can examine or download a Scripps La Jolla SITE MAP, showing where, on the vast acreage of I-5 and Genesee Ave. Scripps La Jolla medical facility each of the individual buildings are located, and what they are known by (i.e., name and/or number). It is possible to go to Google Maps and get a very nice SITE MAP, but the individual buildings are not specifically identified. Furthermore, the maps are TOO OLD, (by at least 5 years). This is VERY BADLY NEEDED, because neither are there maps on large bulletin boards anywhere on the grounds,, and the entry gate toll takers are no longer there to provide local...
Read moreThe imaging facility is extremely friendly, and modern. But my best experience was with the nurse technician John who completely reset my mind about MRAs. He was gentle, professional, explained everything and listened. He needs to be recognized for going above and beyond to ensure my experience at Scripps. Even apologized for what was not his responsibility (my first MRA had to be rescheduled be cause the system didn’t have my blood results available on time) Congrats to you, John,...
