It gets 2 stars for effort. However -- be warned that during the weekends loud mariachi music wafts into this area from the nearby flea market. Furthermore, the view is less than desirable. Atleast it exists for people who can't make it to a nicer trail. Also the tunnel connecting the wildcat trail seems to flood during the "wet season". Oh, right and a Chevron refinery blankets the area with a haze that doesnt sooth the soul.

Marshland, backside of the solar farm and water treatment plant, fresh views of the Chevron refinery. A mix of industrial and natural. Parts of the trail are closed after 5:00 even during the summer. According to the signs, some of the trail is privately owned.

This is an out of the way trailhead and parking lot. You can enter it while driving only when travelling South on the Richmond Parkway. By bike, you can enter from the Bay Trail - which runs (in both travelling) directions on the west sidewalk of the Richmond Parkway.

It's a nice place to linger - if you don't mind the noise of the Richmond Parkway. There's shade, a public restroom, water, and you can take a short walk out into Wildcat Marsh - with interpretive signs.

I use it most often as a rest break while I'm riding my bike. There's rarely...
