Beautiful! But yes - do NOT follow Google maps! It puts you on the wrong side of the river. You need to be on the west side of the river, not on the east side. Look for Pine Ave South. Search "Banning State Park Map" and you will find the directions there.

Another note, it is NOT obvious you have reached the trail head. The road does dead end, but there is no trail head sign (that we could see). With the over growth of summer the entry is narrow and hidden. The gravel road gets VERY bumpy, so no cars. Parking is just in mowed grass.

Read moreJuly 1st 2021 Update: Due to some sewage pipe leak issue elsewhere, the road to Big Spring Falls was closed. Therefore, please check with someone (or an update by a user here) before taking a trip. Don't use Google maps but the directions given by another user which should take you to the Falls (Main Street in Sandstone, Take 3rd Street, within half a mile take Pine Avenue on right, Keep going past the dead end sign in the unpaved road, it should curve to the right and then left to take to the starting point of the trail for Falls).
