Lots of stuff Here and nice staff. Mostly cater to hispanics though you can probably get most of what you need there. Some stuff are overpriced though. Ham was over $4/pound. Walmart sells it for half the price. Desserts look good, however I do not recommend buying the meats here. It was one of the few stores open late before the holidays and so we decided to visit the store for meats. We paid over $40 for chicken to prepare a Xmas meal for our family only to open them up to foul odor And spoiled meat. The meats were already expired and slimy! Unfortunately we didn't know until the next day when we had to cook for the family. we had kept the meats in our fridge so we know it wasnt our doing that it was spoiled. I also have never smelled anything this bad! The chicken smelled like it has been out for days. Now I know why this little old lady was going back and forth with the meat packets. It now make sense why she kept on going back to put the meat back. I thought she was just indecisive. She obviously had been there a few times and knew about the meats. The meat looked OK to us initially but we didn't bother to look at the expiration date or deeper because we assumed that the store would have known better than to leave old meat out. The price was also insanely ridiculous. We paid $40 for small chicken legs and thighs. Fortunately, the asian market was open on Xmas day, so we went there before our Xmas party and got better quality chicken meat for only $5/pack versus $10/pack at the sanger state supermarket! We didn't get this resolved with the store due to time constraints with family Xmas functions but was fortunate to find an alternative solution at another store. Hopefully the meat issue get resolved or people...
Read moreI was attracted to this store after reading their weekly add. The ribeye steaks $4.95 a pound. A great price for ribeye steaks. I was impressed by the variety and the quantity of displayed meat in the meat department. I was also impressed by the size of the ribeye steak on display. Was it bizarre that one ribeye steak was at the top of the pile of ribeyes and near the display window for the consumer to see, while all other ribeyes were covered and not visible? I was helped quickly at the meat counter. This has been a good experience up until this point. When I got home and unpacked the ribeyes to prepare for the bbq. I was disappointed. Quickly the disappointment turned into a feeling of bamboozlement. I replayed in my mind the nice lady at the meat counter packing the ribeyes in the bag. There were three steaks she packed the first two steaks and lastly a very nice large ribeye steak on top. The two steaks packed first by the nice lady look like less expensive chuck steak. What is this???
Is this the way they do business? Have you been bamboozled by this store? No thank you State Foods! I will stick to shopping at quality stores. I prefer not to...
Read moreSo a store clerk mislabeled the 8 pack bundle of Powerade as 2 packs for $3.00. I grabbed 2 packs only.at check out they rang up as $4.99 each pack. I asked the manager to remedy the situation by giving them to me for the listed price. He refused. In fact he had a store clerk for remove multiple signs as several were labeled wrong right there. So I left my entire basket of food at the register because if a store manager can't give the customer the labeled price, one that his clerks labeled as, then there is no concern for the customer and that means customer service isn't on their high priority list. He should have given me the price and recognized that I saved him money from other people asking for that price, but nope...and I had about $100 worth of groceries in my basket. Never again will this place get my business or money...and I live one block away... I'd rather go across...
