Two Harbors General Store — Local services in Santa Catalina Island

I’ve been to the General Store in Two Harbors a few times and always love to come back and poke around their cool gifts and quirky keepsakes.There’s really a lot of cool gifts - not the regular printed shell type stuff you see in other beach towns - but actually well curated and thought out gifts with a range of prices. In fact, they have a much more interesting selection than most of the places in Avalon. Every year I’m back they have cool new t-shirts, caps and hoodies – although a little on the pricier side they are still worth the memory.

This time I needed some food and was surprised to see the produce was really fresh and not too expensive - I think an onion was 50c which is pretty good. The ice is a bit expensive though and the booze too - but I drink PBR so I didn’t have to worry about that one too much lol

The staff are always super friendly and make you feel like a local and their early morning coffee setup is the perfect stop before a walk with my dogs.

Love this store and love seeing it get better and better and continually adding new things...

The general store is a great place to go to get your bearings of the island. I went to kayak camp one weekend and was short on supplies so I went to the store once I got off the ferry. There, I was met with really knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful staff members. Specifically, one member named Blaine stood out. Blaine was very knowledgeable about the island climate as well as amenities. Consequently, Blaine also knew what supplies would be good to have based on where I was camping. He also shared the great hidden gems on the island and where to find them. Also, when I came back from camping and needed to charge my phone, Blaine was a huge help and offered to charge my phone and watch it as I went to lunch. This hidden gem in Two Harbors is way more than your average general store. It’s got that laid back, island life soul. From ice cold drinks and fire snacks to beachy gear and camp essentials, the place has you covered whether you’re diving in the kelp beds or just kicking it by the cove. The staff? Cool as the ocean breeze, always down to help and full of local tips.

Need a snorkel, a hoodie, or just a good old fashioned ice cream run? Boom, it’s all here. It’s like the Ron Jon of Catalina, but with more small town charm and harbor views for miles.
