The Spa at Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe — Local services in Santa Fe

I ALWAYS book a treatment when in Santa Fe and it has never disappointed. I hold every other spa across the United Stares to their standard and no one has ever come close to the levels of expertise I’ve received. I was there two weeks ago and have been stopping myself from calling every day. I was left feeling disappointed, disgusted and just plain icky and time hasn’t helped the way I am feeling. I had a male masseuse and 15-20 minutes of my 80 minutes was spent moving around the table apparently trying to loosen my hips, etc., and “open myself up to Mother Earth.” My husband has a different opinion on what was actually going on. I’ve tried to laugh it off but the more time passes, the worse I feel for not having enough gumption to stop it. There are a few other things that happened that left me feeling uncomfortable but I won’t go into them. I should have been brave enough to say “STOP” so I feel responsible. Went there to have massage with my 2 daughters. Very disappointed. In the reception area of the spa. The staff asked what size of slippers you wear? I said medium. Then she asks “ can you wear small?” I said no. Then she went back to get me a medium. I thought to myself, she wants me to wear a small so she does not have to go inside to get them? She has such insincere smile on her face. The massage therapist is nice. However, the massage was not good. She asked how was the pressure? I told her “I can take deeper “. I had another bad experience with the spa. I had made a reservation and wanted to change the time. I sent two emails to the spa requesting the change, but no one ever replied. Finally I called them and cancelled the reservation and also told them that this kind of lack of customer service is most definitely not up to Four Seasons five-stars standards. But there was zero attempt at guest recovery. I am very familiar with Four Seasons and have stayed with them at various locations around the world.
