Food Lion — Local services in Savannah

I'm from Chicago and me and my wife went here while on vacation. I agree with the other reviewers that the store is clean, prices are reasonable, and the employees were friendly, but the I found the quality of the selection to be quite poor. I do realize healthier food is often more expensive, but I felt like this grocery store didn't even make an attempt to make it healthy--and the food was like the overly sugary and heavily processed stuff you'd find at a gas station. I'm drinking their house brand k-cup right now and it's the worst k-cup coffee I've ever had-- it's like drinking water! If this place was in the heavily competitive midwest, it would likely go out of business. It kind of angered me and made me feel that people were being taken advantage of and manipulated with unhealthy food choices in the name of the almighty dollar. If this was the only grocery store I was forced to shop at-- I'd pretty much shop only in the produce and water area and then turn and head right out the door. The individual store itself is very good, I just don't care for the tycoons that run it! And sorry guys, but that logo is just terrible-- it looks like an Atari version of the...

As stated before, this is the most unfriendliness store I've ever been to. Not because of the employees because of the store mangers. I worked at many foodlions' before, so this is a big issue for me. The employees, some, they too are like some of the managers but the good ones make your visit there painless. Especially with the great divide that is in society today, those few people make you feel like a person and they are willing to provide the help and assistance that you may need, if any. Because of those few people your shopping experience can be quick, pleasurable and easy. Keep in mind most of foodlions traffic are workers that are just getting off work. Don't go there if you had a bad work day, those few good employees won't be there and your experience may be rough( ask the last guy they just called the police on...) It's finally...

Unfortunately this is my neighborhood grocery store so I find myself here more than I want to be. I have had fine experiences in other food lion locations however this is the worst ran major chain grocery store I have ever been in. The staff has no customer service skills. You do not feel welcomed. They wax the floors during hours every night with a lady machine that follows you around. Management is down right rude. And their systems seem to malfunction at check out often. What should be a 10inute grocery store run often turns into an hour because this place is always in disarray. Hopefully they overhaul it soon or build another grocery store...
