Hunter AAF Commissary — Local services in Savannah

This store is well kept and organized. The staff for the most part are friendly and helpful. Except for today. In the self checkout the one person attending the registers was neither helpful or friendly. It's been a little while since I've been here and the first time I've used self checkout here. In other establishments I've scanned and bagged purchases and put the bag in my cart. Not here. Bag the merchandise and leave the bag on this checkout stand. So I put one bag in the cart and got an error message on the screen. This lady was busy involved with a loud personal conversation. I really didn't know what was going on and finally got her attention. Now that seemed to have angered her. And very rudely she told me what I needed to do. What are they paying this person for she's an embarrassment. The commissary system used to be priced reasonably. No more with the exception of a very few items. Wal mart has better prices on many items. We're told that there's no taxes on our purchases. True but on the receipt there's a surcharge equal to the taxes we pay in retail stores. I’ve been shopping Hunter Commissary since it was in a crowded old warehouse by the railroad tracks. Back then the aisles had arrows on the floors telling you which way to go because the aisles were so narrow. One sweet lady working here now has been working for the Hunter commissary all these years. This store has come a long way since then. The store is always clean and well stocked. The bathroom is clean. My favorite grocery store. A few of the younger newer cashiers are a bit rude and a couple of the younger newer baggers are flat out lazy. Whenever I go to the commissary I am disappointed. I have to check the dates on dairy and sandwich meat. They must not check the breads by the deli, this is the second time I noticed that the bread is moldy. This is not acceptable !!! The manager who supposed to be checking all this is not doing his job!!!!! I don’t want to know how much he or she gets paid for doing nothing !!!! Please...
