I really like this place as their selection and prices are really great, but unfortunately I had an annoying experience with an employee during my last visit. I came in for a small bit of Christmas shopping, and the whole time I was there I had an employee follow me around the store. Everywhere I went she shadowed me and was doing a very bad job pretending to stock/organize items on the shelf. She was quite literally breathing down my neck. I’d say she stayed about 2-3 feet from me the whole time I was there. It made me extremely uncomfortable, so much so that I had a hard time browsing for gifts. I WASN’T stealing! I was just shopping for gifts for my secret Santa party. As someone who also works in retail, I can tell you this was extremely unprofessional and out of line. You couldn’t make it any more obvious that you thought I was a thief. Were you shocked to see me pay for my items...

Before the stores remodel I would have given a rating of 5 stars...but not anymore. This was my 'go to' store for everything from clothes to home decor. Store no longer carries the unique decorating items they did before, very 'closed' in sterile feeling. Plus...the longtime manager is gone!! She knew that store in and out and could find anything you were looking for. This store has lost its unique appeal and friendly atmosphere that made it so special. Still great prices and selection of clothes....but miss the variety of items...

Been going to this Burkes for over year. Never had any problems until tonight Jan 22,2016 around 7:45pm. My sister and I came in to get shampoo. The sales associate was sweeping the floor as we browsed for shampoo. She then came by the shampoo and began to sweep. Sweeping all around me and my sister not saying excuse me or anything.
