I chose to visit this exotic & natural place. Here, it's like a spanned out maze to wander in. A large acreage nursery business in Seabrook, that I discovered while viewing the Maps app for cacti.

It was raining heavily all morning in Seabrook for this visit! It's befitting for these heavy showers for an outdoor business such as an active nursery that employs several people.

Rains to bring out droves of birds, chirping loud competing for their natural bath house from their viewpoint of the many shade trees here. Or all the frogs I heard splashing around in the open pools of water formed. And, of course, the budding of flowers is in bloom this spring at Maas.

My favorite time to get out is in the time of year to see the rare cactus blooms that come and go like the gulf rain storms. Normally, it is only around this time of year in early spring.

My goal today is to find my next thornless pear cactus. It is rarer in finding it available in our ecosystem, along the upper Texas Gulf Coast.

Pear cactus typically thrives in south central Texas to Mexico. The species with the sharp long thorns that is. My 3 foot thornless pear froze and broke off from the top after it got blackened from our deep freeze and sudden snow flurry, we experienced once during this past winter.

I had previously seen some photos online of many cacti and succulents in a Maps review here online. That's how you know before you get out in inclement weather.

I found the indoor plant house next to the public toilets on the far fenced side of the property next to a small gnome and mushroom garden along the fence of Todville Rd.

If you're a lover of all plants growing wild in the sunny and sandy southwest and on past the Pecos river and the Rio Grande. And there's plants too that are tropically active with our high humidity here, then head inside the building marked 'House Plants' (next to the public restrooms). You won't be disappointed.

Next, walk on over to another under cover smaller area for local artists displaying their works publicly. If you happen to find it by exploring on foot, you may happen to meet and speak with a local artist while at work.

Make sure you agree to their pricing value per plant chosen before you head to the cashier with your beloved plant all the way towards the exit. Finding someone is tricky the busier they are. And their signage towards the exit is nonexistent if not rare to view. I do

I did my due diligence on Maps beforehand and read by more than one visitor that many plants were overpriced, too steep for an average shopper. It is what it is when shopping for rare plants. I do know the value in growing exotic rare cacti like my thornless pear cactus in our zone 9 ecosystem along...

Had a weird experience here about a week and a half ago. Went with the girlfriend, she loves this place. She was looking at plants and what not but really went there to look into their mulch. Keep in mind, she loves this place and has been here multiple times and even brings her out of town mom here.

We start by walking around inside the main building looking at fertilizer and some type of grass feed stuff. Then she walks to the back to look for a few plants. I'm not a plant guy, I don't know the names. This is where it gets weird.

An older guy in a polo starts following us around. He hangs out like 10-15 feet away and follows us everywhere we go. She keep looking around at plants and picks up a few. I'm pulling them behind us in this cart thingy. The guy is still following us. She notices too. We decide to just leave because we're getting creeped out. The dude follows us to the check out and is eyeing us the whole time!

We walk to the car, put the plants in the truck and back out. We notice the dude still looking at us! Then he takes a picture of my car as we pull away! We were like, what the hell...

We called the place and a nice girl picks up the phone. We say to her, "hey, this guy was following us around and taking pictures of my car, wth". She goes and asks the guy. Turns out, that guy was the owner!

The girl comes back to the phone after a bit and tells us that the guy profiles people who have "backpacks". My gf has one of those purses that you wear like a backpack. The owner thought we were there to steal plant clippings or something, and that's the explaination we got. The owner didn't have the guts to tell us this himself, he made the nice girl tell us.

The guy never said a word to use, just followed us around like a CREEP. I only went here with the gf, but she was so creeped out she said she's never going back.

The owner of the place, profiling young girls with purses that you wear on your back, and taking pictures of people's cars. Not a way to win customers dude. We're taking out plant...

I had my first experience a few weeks ago. I was mesmerized and in love with the beautiful gardens, plants and flowers. I was conducting an estate sale in the area and a customer spent about 30 min. talking plants and Maas Nursery. I told her I was going for sure! A few hours later the customer came back to my sell and had a hanging basket flower plant she was gifting me. I was so overwhelmed with her generosity. She told me that they came off the SALE table and was only $2.00💐 The next day I went and loaded up with a bunch of sale plants and some herbs. I get to checkout and the cashier (Hispanic lady) starts picking up plants individually which I got off sale rack for $5.00 a flat. She said these are not on sale, and I said they were all on the sale table. She responded by saying they must’ve been put there an error. I then said the entire rack is all of these flowers that are marked on SALE. She didn’t care. Another cashier a older lady (white) chimed in and said let’s go back and look, she proceeded to the Sale table with me and said you are correct they are on sale. I photographed the sale signs and the table plants on it. We go back up to the front where the cashier is still checking people out. I share the sign in the pictures with her. And I quote you’re still not getting them for those prices. I wouldn’t give them to you at the sale price. The lady who helped me earlier checked me out at the posted sale prices listed.

For it being my first time there it was very disappointing to be treated the way I was treated. I’m an avid flower person and have a beautiful butterfly garden at home. 90% of what I have in my garden are rescues from various nurseries that were either on the discount rack are being thrown out. I brought them back to life. I do plan on going back because it had such a great variety and I just loved it. But I hated the way I was treated by one person working for you. You may want to consider have a re- training for...
