We completely renovated our kitchen recently. It was a large project for us with a number of objectives that we wanted to achieve including improving the workflow efficiency, maximizing the counter and storage spaces, and accommodating additional appliances, while ensuring minimal disruption and downtime during the renovation.
After developing our initial designs and selecting our appliances, we starting meeting with kitchen designers to get estimates. When we met Mike Biggs, owner of Home & Office Cabinetry of Delaware, Inc. at his showroom located in Greenwood Delaware, we immediately knew we found the right person! What a nice difference!
From our first meeting until finishing the project, Mike was amazing. His philosophy is “this should be an enjoyable experience.” With his positive attitude and ability to quickly identify and resolve any issue, it was exactly that way. Mike is extremely knowledgeable on all facets of kitchen remodeling, not just cabinetry. Although we initially hired his company to install cabinets, we quickly realized how his professional expertise would be invaluable in coordinating the other phases of the project – plumbing, electrical, lighting (pendant, ceiling, cabinets), HVAC, painting, flooring, countertops, cabinet hardware, glass and more. He worked closely with us, listened to our ideas and provided us with excellent suggestions.
Mike was fully engaged from the initial design meetings through the entire project until completion, including selection of cabinets, reviewing and ensuring the precise measurement of the kitchen, as well as inspecting and installing each cabinet after they were delivered (nearly 40 total). He was an invaluable source for recommending contractors and vendors. Mike and his crew installed the new cabinets with professional craftsmanship, including the crown molding, custom trim, and cabinet LED lighting (both counter and inside cabinets). Additionally, Mike expertly installed the custom cabinet panels on our refrigerator, dishwasher and an under-counter refrigerator. It was remarkable watching him construct custom pieces onsite with his fully equipped trailer. Other times, he would come in with an item, such as the wood backsplash or chair rail, that he crafted in his shop. He even designed and fabricated a custom television wall mount bracket that installs into a corner, and a custom crown molding that’s not available commercially.
Mike and his team worked quickly, without breaks, and delivered everything and more on time (or often sooner!). He made the entire project enjoyable and was readily available throughout every phase of this project. Mike was honest, friendly, easy-going, passionate about his work and enthusiastic about our project. By far, he surpassed all our expectations.
