Copeland Oaks — Local services in Sebring

Except for the way family members are dismissed and treated poorly, Copeland Oaks is a beautiful place to live. I live out of state/town and am the daughter of residents who live at Copeland Oaks. I can no longer visit my parents for any length of time since administration SHAMEFULLY decided to discontinue providing accommodations for out of town family members. I sincerely cannot afford to stay in some motel 5-10 miles away for any length of time to be able to visit my parents . I work at a retirement village who caters to out of town family members and guests by providing 5 guest rooms (nothing luxurious or expensive, but comfortable and adequate). And there are even many accessible local motels nearby. Yet Copeland Oaks, in the middle of “nowhere”, offers NOTHING for family members. Just shameful and unacceptable for your administration. This requires me to definitely consider your community as Family “Non-Friendly”. I can't tell you anything about the place other then it has a nice little walking trail in the back. I haven't been told by anyone there that I can't walk it and one of the employees even suggested it. I also enjoy night time strolls and pokehunting so I like how lit up the area is. Makes me feel less likely to get attacked and/or eaten by a coyote. I haven't been told that I can't do it yet so.. I imagine I'm allowed? So until that happens, that's where I pokey hunt at night and that's where I go get my nature on...

Although I have not had any family who have stayed here, I have worked with a number of the staff and used to volunteer here. You will be hard pressed to find another facility as beautiful as Copeland. I work in long-term care and every employee I have met here has been professional and helpful. If and when my parents may need a lon-term care option, Copeland will be #1 on our list. I would suggest stopping in for a tour of their amazing facility and property. There's no other like it...
