First impressions mean so much sometimes. I walked into this place for the first time yesterday to visit my family member who was recently admitted. The first thing I see as I open the door was a fairly clean and inviting entry way. Then the stench of urine & feces hit me followed by the cries of the residents who were positioned in their wheelchairs around the wall by the front desk. One resident, obviously not completely in sound mind, crying saying "Please get me away from this horrible place". Me having a background in medical wouldn't not have paid that much mind if I did just hear the horror in what my family member has gone thru there. Staff ignored us when we tried to sign in... asked for a pen and literally got a dirty look from a staff on her cell phone, work or not I don't know, but she was just standing there while the other staff was on the work phone. All that fancy stuff is over rated because there is so much focus placed on those material things and not the care and attention a patient needs. I transferred my mom here from one of those high-end fancy facilities because she did not receive the care required. I am utterly impressed with the staff here. These people really do care about your loved one. There is plenty of staff always on hand to address my mom's needs promptly. Everyone is friendly, kind and is eager to help. They have that small home town feel. Family members are always there visiting, strangers will smile at you and say hi. The aids, nurses and physical therapist take the time to get to know the patient and build a relationship. My mom is very happy. I would highly recommend placing your loved one in the hands of these wonderful people. It is a peace of mind knowing they are...
