The air here is magical. Red mesas and buttes, dotted by pines and other trees and shrubs, make up the bulk of the geography of this area. There are quite a few options for casual and serious hikers alike; rock climbers too. Many maps and trailheads are sprinkled throughout the many trails here, and there are several paid parking areas. Bring water, your hiking shoes, and sunscreen, because there isn’t much cover.
