A few weeks ago, I walked into the Santos Patronos Wagyu store and Jane recommended I try a cut I had never even heard of before â the Denver cut.
Yâall⌠BEST. STEAK. OF. MY. LIFE. Iâm not exaggerating. That one steak completely ruined me for all other steaks. Tender like butter and packed with flavor in every bite.
While I was raving about it to Jane, she told me about something I didnât even know they offered â a Culinary Experience out at their ranch with Chef Ray.
So we booked it. And oh my goodness, I am so glad we did.
From the minute we arrived, we were treated like family. âUncle Jeffâ gave us a tour of the ranch and taught us all about their Wagyu and Beefmaster cattle â the care, the science, the passion that goes into raising them. Itâs not just ranching; itâs an art.
Jane also gave us a tour of the lodge and WOW. Every single detail is beautiful and thoughtful. Itâs the kind of place where you instantly imagine a family getaway or a group of friends staying the weekend. It can sleep 22 people, but still feels cozy and welcoming.
And then came dinnerâŚ
Chef Ray (who trained in Italy!) has created something extraordinary out there. We started with the best meatballs Iâve ever eaten, had a salad made from his momâs recipe, and then the main event: a steak flight with four different cuts of their Wagyu. Every bite was incredible, but that Denver cut? Still my absolute favorite.
We wrapped up the night sitting around a fire under the Texas stars, full of great food, laughter, and the kind of genuine hospitality that makes you never want to leave.
If youâre wondering if itâs worth it â it absolutely is. Whether you grab a steak at the Seguin storefront (pro tip: try the Denver cut!!) or book a ranch experience (and stay at the lodge!), youâll leave with more than a meal. Youâll leave...
