As a bride preparing for one of the most important days of my life, I expected a certain level of professionalism, care, and communication—unfortunately, Beyond Royalty Beauty Bar and Brittney fell short in every way.

Before stepping into the salon, I had a virtual consultation with Brittney—over the phone and through email. I was clear that I wanted Hollywood Curls for my bridal trial. She assured me she could execute the look. I even asked if she wasn’t confident in doing the style herself, to recommend another stylist in the salon. She told me she could do it the same way that I requested on the picture.

I dropped my wig off 7 days in advance to allow time for prep. But the day of my appointment, everything felt rushed. The curls I received were very basic—not even close to Hollywood waves. Although the wig was pre-curled, she had other clients waiting, and I felt like I was squeezed into her schedule rather than being treated like a bridal trial. There was no special experience, no attention to detail.

Even though she acknowledged the style wasn’t correct and said she’d fix it, she didn’t offer any kind of discount. I still paid $200 for a rushed install and basic curls.

The wash and braid down were just as underwhelming… no deep conditioning, no scalp treatment. Just a basic shampoo and conditioner, nothing more. This didn’t feel like a premium service at all.

To make matters worse, she applied excessive glue to the wig, and when my makeup artist later placed a band over the lace, it got stuck to the glue even hours after I’d left the salon

When I finally got in contact with Brittney after multiple attempts, she asked me to drop the wig back off last minute which caused me to do a walk-in to have the wig removed and was still charged $20 for removal by another stylist, bringing my total to $220 for subpar work. I still complied, hoping for a better outcome. But she never contacted me the next day to say the wig was ready. Eventually, she told me to come after 8:00pm to meet her daughter at the closed salon to pick it up. Completely unprofessional.

Even after all that, the wig still wasn’t finished. I had to bleach the knots, cut the lace, and fix it myself. When I asked for a refund, Brittney said she doesn’t offer refunds and asked me to give her grace because she’s a mom of a newborn. I sympathize, but that doesn’t excuse poor service, lack of communication, or lack of accountability especially for something as important as bridal hair.

This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had as a customer. If you’re a bride looking for a stylist who communicates, takes pride in their work, and makes you feel special; this is not the place.

The salon is beautiful and everyone was very nice but my review is base on the quality of service. I walked in to make appointment to get lashes done and decided to get my brows done. I was initially happy with my brows (wax and tint) but they only lasted 3-4 days. For $30 they should definitely last longer. Because I was happy with how my brows turned out I continue with a lash appointment. I confirmed if they installed individual lashes instead of clusters. Front desk attendant confirmed they use individual lashes. I also explained I wanted natural look with a little volume and length. She continued to book me for a classic set ($100). Fast forward the day before my appointment I get a call from the salon advising the lash tech won’t be there and I need to change appointment time and tech. I changed my schedule and went to get my lashes done the same day they called. I showed up and was greeted and walked over immediately to get my lashes done. There was no other customers in the salon. I explain to the tech I wanted natural look with little volume and length. That was the extent of the conversation. 2 hours later I sit up with very dark, dramatic lashes that weren’t natural at all. They were heavy and my eyes were irritated. The lashes that were installed were not the classic lashes I requested and they also weren’t $100. When I advise the tech I was told $100 she then looked in the system and saw I requested the classic lashes. She did honor the $100 price which I appreciate. My issue is that she should of known I requested classic lashes before she started. My second issue is that the lashes didn’t last long at all. By the time I left the salon and went to pick my daughter up 20% of lashes fell out. At this point I discovered individual lashes were not installed. What I didn’t want was clusters because they are too heavy for my natural lashes and cause irritation. 5 days later 90% lashes are gone on the left eye and 60% are gone on the right. At the time, Gel-X was still a relatively new service, and Dalila stood out as one of the few skilled professionals in the DMV area offering it. From my very first appointment, I was hooked—acrylics quickly became a thing of the past. Dalila is an exceptionally talented nail technician. She’s creative, meticulous, and consistently delivers flawless results. I highly recommend her services! Her Gel-X sets last up to 4–6 weeks, though I personally prefer getting mine refreshed every 2–3 weeks. She books quickly, so I always schedule multiple appointments in advance to secure my spot.

Brittany, the owner, is equally amazing—she’s warm, professional, and ensures every client feels welcomed and valued. On the occasions when my regular hair stylist was unavailable, I turned to the talented stylists at Beyond Royalty, and I was thoroughly impressed. Brittany herself is an outstanding hairstylist, and every experience I’ve had in the salon has left me feeling confident and satisfied.
