Brought my 2009 Audi A5 to Jessup Total Car Care on Friday, 1-10-2025 because my alternator with out. Rick is a master mechanic & his wife handles the office work. Good people. But good people lie. Rick told me over the phone he ordered the part from Napa & it wouldn't arrive until Monday 1-13-2025. I asked about the core of the alternator. He said he would put the old alternator in the box of the new alternator & leave it in my possession. But he didn't do it & he didn't tell me why he lied to me. His wife called me on Monday, 1-13-2025. She told me the price to pickup my vehicle was $835.29 .$375 for labor $435.96 the price of the alternator & $11.25 tax. I asked about the core charge & Rick's wife said the original price of the alternator was $540. She lied. I don't why but she lied to me. $435.96 was after the core. Today, Tuesday 1-14-2025, I called Napa who said the price of a brand new alternator for my make & model vehicle is $389 with core. When I spoke to Rick's wife about giving me a receipt from Napa, she said she paid for it because they have an account with Napa.I told her the correct price & then she agreed & told me with tax it came out to $414 but she charged me an extra $21 for her own pockets. We know account holder don't pay retail price, they get a discount for doing business. Rick is a master mechanic. Him & his wife are good people, but for money they will lie. Had a flat tire at work and this shop was the nearest place. It was already getting dark and all shops would be typically closed by 6-7pm but man was it a great experience, I had with Mr. Rick. He is the owner and he has all the equipment in the world (probably). He got to work as soon as I addressed my problem. Old man Rick is one of those very experienced GRUNT, so be very polite and nice to the man!

I also had multiple yellow lights on my dashboard and I had been in different shop to get it fixed but they weren’t able to do it. So I asked Rick for second opinion and man did he have a massive device to diagnose my car and all with no charge! All I needed was a tune up!

During all of this going on, he and I got to know each other very well. I dont think I will ever experience such a superman like mechanic!! I got nothing to say other than good things for the man. I will only come to this shop from now on!!! Left that day paying nothing more than 20 bucks. If it were any other corporate or franchises I’m sure you could’ve left with more than that.

Don't know the owners heard good things about them but there was another man that works there who worked on my car yesterday. I got a plug done to my car and at first​ he tried to get me for $50 for the repair.. knowing know that the repair should have only cost me at tops $20.. I still ended up overpaying because he made it a negotiation. Don't trust this man. He said I need to pay with cash only.. I don't remember his name but he looks like a larger man, very thick, and bald. This was yesterday when I got my plug done it is still holding, but today I get a flat tire on the opposite side of my car. I feel like he did something to my tire so I would come back so he could make an easy doller!? I'm very upset knowing that first of all, I've been treated this way and second of all there is no way Something could happen the very next day to a different tire only after I see you.
