Ludlums has the best fruits and vegetables by far in the Holden Beach area. Their outstanding customer service is also something I look forward to everytime I visit. I'm not very good at picking out cantaloupe or watermelon, so I ask one of the workers to please pick them out for me. When they have, the fruit is so heavenly tasting. I buy the cantaloupe, tomatoes, squash (just fried some squash and onions last night to go with some fried fish), corn on the cob (so sweet and delicious), peaches (so juicy and delicious), and watermelon. I love their Sweet Gem watermelons when they have them. They sell fast as they are so sweet and heavenly tasting. Last year they sold pints of ice cream made at a nearby creamery from their delicious fruits. My favorite was the strawberry. I absolutely love this store. This is where we get our local honey. The fruit and vegetables are always fresh and top quality. The staff is wonderful and if you take the time to talk to them you will find out how kind they are. The lady at the check out found out that I was visiting my aunt and taking her peaches so she added a special touch and put them in a basket with a bow for her. Many thanks. We've only been to Ludlums once. But today we were in a head on collision in front of their store. They immediately jumped into action. Called 911, comforted us, gave us water, offered to let us wait inside, offered to have someone pick my daughter up from work and bring her to us, offered to take us where we might need to go.
