The food was great! The waitresses were not so great. I think we had three different waitresses while we were there. One took our drink order and brought our drinks (she didn't bring those until after our appetizer came) and she took our food order. Then we had one that brought our food. Then another that finally brought our check and that was a long time after we finished eating. No one came to the table after we got our food to make sure we didn't need anything. We never got refills on our drinks either. Then we got our check and they charged $7.50 for two kids lemonades. When we ordered our drinks I asked for lemonade for my two kids and the waitress said "two kids lemonades" and I said yes. She brought them in a huge cup. When I questioned it when I was paying the girl said oh we dont have a kids drink. She did offer to take one of them off and I told her don't worry about it at this point because of course she acted as if I was crazy. We really enjoyed the food but wish the staff hadn't made us think twice before returning.

*Edit: I originally gave a three star review, but due to the response of the owner of the restaurant my review changed to a one star. And to the owner yes we had three different servers and not one of them refilled our drinks or checked on our table the entire time we were there. In regards to the lemonade I agree I should have looked at the price but when your employee says a kids lemonade I didn't expect to pay that much, but like I said I paid it. You truly didn't need to respond the way you did and do you really think I would come back to your restaurant after...

Update: This was on 7/23. This was also an online order. The pizza was good, but the experience was horrible. We ordered on our way into the island for vacation. We ordered an hour ahead of time and were quoted 45 minutes for preparation time. Got to the restaurant and stood outside the little window for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged I was there for a pickup order. It was a Saturday night, so totally understand for being busy. When I was greeted, the hostess was nice enough, but I was just told that she would check on it and bring it out as soon as possible. I then sat on the deck for 1.25 hours waiting on our 2 pizzas that were supposed to be ready when we showed up. With a 10 month old in the car and after a 14 hour drive, the experience of waiting that long was not positive. The hostess then proceeded to tell others that they were running 10-15 minutes behind, but all 15 or so of us on the porch disagreed. After finally being handed my pizza, she apologized, but told me that it was quoted to be ready an hour ago and provided no further explanation. Several people had to cancel their orders after showing up to an additional wait.

Again, the pizza was good, but paying that much for 2.5 hour waits doesn't create a repeat customer. Need realistic wait times on site or just shut it down completely. Nice staff, but need training on handling...

We’ve dined here over the years, but recently the food quality and taste has declined (sadly). Tonight we ordered pizza, and it was mediocre at best. There was very little sauce, it wasn’t baked long enough, lacked taste, and was lukewarm. Usually the restaurant is very busy, but there was only two other tables tonight. Our waitress was nice. However, the woman at the register was defensive - I expressed our thoughts when paying the bill because she asked how our meal was. Instead of being apologetic and asking for details, she quickly said their recipe hadn’t changed when I described our experience. I did point out at this point since she was so defensive that the restaurant was empty - she was defensive yet again, stating it’s the time of the year. Which, totally is not typical at this restaurant. Last year, quality of food and service was lacking - but restaurant choices in Holden Beach are slim. We will make the short drive to Shallotte to eat pizza at Lucca’s (which was very good last week (new restaurant)). Oh, and our bill for a large pizza, a chef salad, and Pepsi...

After seeing the 4.5 stars, I had high hopes for Patronie’s, but was severely disappointed. We ordered garlic knots and pizza for pick up. I’ve never had “garlic knots” that were just plain pieces of dough. If you get it with marinara sauce instead of the garlic parmesan sauce, do you just dip plain dough in marinara? We got pizza that was half Buffalo chicken, half bbq chicken and both halves were dry and bland. The buffalo half hardly had any sauce and the chicken was the same frozen meat like what they use at Subway. The only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one is because the ranch was very good and the food wasn’t completely inedible. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I am just so confused with the quality of this food.

Where I'm from, when you pay $18 for a 14" buffalo chicken pizza, the absolute minimum expectation is that it at least has Buffalo sauce on it. Now I can't attest for the other two slices my wife ate, but as you can see from the picture, I can't see a single spec of sauce on the pizza. I know people make mistakes, but forgetting the buffalo sauce on a buffalo pizza is akin to forgetting the sauce on a regular pizza, it's simply inexcusable. We could have ordered a pizza from one of the national chains and saved 25% and actually gotten what we paid for, but chose to support a local business instead. I won't make the same mistake in the future.

I just recently tried this place and I am so happy to say I no longer have to order from papa John's. our last order with them we had a 4 hour delivery time. I was so badly hoping that this place was gonna be good and it was fantastic. Our server was very helpful. After telling him it was our first visit. He went out of his way to give us suggestions and to tell us more about the menu. Made jokes to our little one who was feeling that great. Made him laugh and was very concerned about him when he wasn't at the table. Best server and the best pizza around. Will most definitely be back.
